Ooh here’s a question! With Floret Bond’s magic system, what kind of magic would the LOV crew have?
In the world of Floret Bond there’s a ton of things that can be done with magic and the possibilities are broadly divided into different ‘types’ of magic. It’s difficult to learn how to wield magic and each of the different types requires a unique approach. So most people choose to develop skills in only one type of magic. Similar to how most musicians tend to focus on one instrument. The different types are;
Various nature magics; These are magics that make use of a particular element or natural part of the world. Things like fire, water, plants, etc. Nature isn’t a type in itself, each element or what have you is its own type. I just lumped it all into one because it’s not that important to list each element separately, haha.
Healing magic; magic that can be used to cure illnesses and heal injuries.
Neutralization magic; magic that dispels already active magic or stops someone else from being able to use their magic in the first place.
Connection magic; magic that connects the minds and/or souls of more than one person.
Pure magic; magic that is just pure energy. Can be used in a solid, unmoving state or be quickly shot out in a moving, flexible state. Can also be used to increase the magical strength of those around the wielder.
There’s also potion/charm making, where you create physical objects that have magical effects built in. It’s not a type of magic though. And anyone can do that, even non-magic users. That’s because the items have to use an outside source of magic, like crystals or body parts from inherently magical creatures, instead of their own magic conjuring abilities.
Not every variety of creature can use magic and some types have a stronger capacity for controlling magic than others. Humans don’t exist in the world of Floret Bond, but if they did they likely wouldn’t be able to wield magic.
But with all of that said, if they hypothetically could pick a type of magic to use, I think they’d choose these ones-
Kikka: Pure magic. It’s plainer than most other options, but would be quite practical and that’s what counts.
Bemelle: I feel like he’d probably choose something like air to specialize in when he was young. As an adult he might regret the choice and wish he had gone with something that had more offensive power. He’d still do his best to make it work though, since starting over from scratch would be even less helpful.
Margret: Plant magic. She has a fondness for flowers and such, plus being able to quickly and easily provide food for herself would always be a dream come true.
Guide: Neutralization magic. He wouldn’t like magic and would definitely want to stop people from using it when they were in the same vicinity as him. It’d be a new rule in terms of his service that he’ll be suppressing the magic of anyone who crosses the bridges with him.
Lu: I’m not sure if he’d be able to pick one. Lu might remain indecisive about it. Or he might just do whatever was the most common type chosen where he lives, since that’s what everyone else is doing after all.
