BG3 Patch 5 Spoilers
WARNING: BG3 SPOILERS AHEAD!
New content from the ending scene of BG3. This is all from the perspective of a redeemed Dark Urge who romanced Shadowheart and Halsin, and recruited every "good" ally possible.
bg3 minor characters + minor arcana
1481 D.R.
The high-walled ragstone townhouse in which Ulder Ravengard so seldom spends his time sits in an almost respectable quarter of Heapside: gray with grimy snow, cheerless in the chary light of the wick-and-oil lamps, but peaceable. Sometimes.
“Should I raise the hue and cry?” asks Florrick’s driver, dubious, over the din of blades clashing in the yard.
“If Blaze Ravengard is in a swordfight,” says Florrick with crisp amusement, stepping down from the carriage without his arm, “let us assume that he is winning.”
It’s been some time since she called on Ravengard at home, but there are matters she’d like to discuss with Ulder—and only Ulder—before the midwinter council of the Peers. They’ve taken notice of him, of late: compliments that he frowns at, bribes that he returns, invitations to ridottos at which he stands like a dashing wooden beam. Florrick will be surprised, if pleased, if she’s arrived before any other demands on his time have rolled out of bed.
She raps the gate with her staff, then lets herself in. Blaze Ravengard is not in the swordfight. In his modest forecourt a woollen-wrapped young Wyll and some wicked old personage from Parliament—jeweled at hands and throat and baldric, muddy at the riding-boots, barking wolfish laughs from the cowl of a shearling cloak—are crossing foils. The blades slice like blunted lightning through the quick clouds of their breath.
Flashing one’s moonstone cufflinks in Heapside is—confident. Florrick squints through the snowglint at the boy’s assailant, then checks. “Milord Duke!”
Round 2 — Match 23 / 38 — Auntie Ethel vs. Counsellor Florrick
Auntie Ethel is a fussy trader of potions, lotions, quirks, and sundries who can be first encountered in The Hollow of the Emerald Grove. Later, she will return to her home at the Riverside Teahouse in the Sunlit Wetlands.
"she’s so mean. she’s so specific. she’s like a therapist from hell."
"Auntie Ethel has custom Vicious Mockery lines for every party member plus specific ones for all the races Tav can be and her voice actress is clearly having SO MUCH FUN being evil."
vs.
Counsellor Florrick is an elven wizard and advisor to the Archduke. Her loyalty to Grand Duke Ravengard is beyond question. Steady as Tyr's heartbeat, as upstanding as the Sword Mountains, Florrick plays a notable role in the politics brewing within Baldur's Gate, mainly through the questline Rescue the Grand Duke.
"Florrick is one of those NPCs who feels like she belongs in a different political thriller, and then BG3 keeps drop-kicking her into worse situations. She stays sharp anyway. Love that for her."
"florrick is so underrated because she’s basically doing “adult in the room” work while everyone else is either panicking or profiteering. you meet her around waukeen’s rest and she’s immediately trying to manage an actual crisis, then act 3 rolls around and she’s getting scapegoated for gortash’s mess, and she’s STILL trying to do the right thing, still trying to warn people, still trying to keep the city from collapsing."

Fixing Wyll's story: Florrick's confrontation audition.
Florrick: Save it. My duty is for Baldur's Gate - and it holds no place for Ravengard's treacherous spawn. (Arcana check successful) Narrator: you sense infernal air surrounding Florrick and her men. She's been charmed by a devil and a very obvious one at that. (OPTIONS) Arcana (DC 25): *Break the charm hanging over Florrick* *Cast Great Restoration to break the charm hanging over Florrick* (option only available if you have the spell readied) Persuasion (DC 25): "Lady" Mizora is Wyll's former patron. She lied to get even for breaking his contract. (If any of these work) Narrator: Whatever fog that has settled over Florrick disappeared with a flick of a wrist. Shamed coats her very being. Florrick: I - gods, Wyll, I'm so sorry. I should have known. Wyll: You have nothing to apologize for, counsellor Florrick. I know Mizora's dirty tricks by hand now. This isn't the first time she has used her magic to turn others against me and I doubt it will be the last. Wyll: She will stop at nothing to make sure I regret talking back to her. We need to find my father soon as possible. PC: 1. Apologies are for later. What happened? 2. I know a thing or two about falling for the charms of devilish beings. Most of them weren't so literal though. 3. Nothing to apologize for? She attacked us in the middle of the street! 4. Say nothing. Let them talk. Florrick: I - I can't remember. I can only recall one of my men entering my chambers with the news of Duke Ravengard's supposed disappearance. But when I try to remember more, I- Narrator: Florrick grimaces, as if something in her head is stopping her from recalling anything more. A Modified Memory spell. Mizora made sure to leave no tracks behind. Wyll: She has wrapped your memories around her finger. Another one of her old tricks. Wyll: Have you met this "lady" Mizora before? Florrick: I think so? The more I try to remember, the less clear it all seems. But I do remember meeting a young redheaded noble lady many times before. We spend many times together, I don't think she would - she wouldn't do this to me. PC: 1. It seems she already did. No time to mourn the past. 2. Hells. And just when we thought she couldn't go any lower. 3. You shared your bed with a cambion and still attacked Wyll for dealing with one? And you called us a hypocrite. ( -10 Wyll disapproval) 4. Let Wyll do the talking. Wyll: I'm sorry for what she had done to you, counsellor. If it's any consultation, the after effects shouldn't last for more than a day. Gather your men and warn them of an asset of Zariel roaming the city. If any of them smell of sulfur and hellfire, have them sent to a local cleric immediately. Florrick: I will do so. Here's the location of our hideout if you ever need help. We have equipment and weapons for you if you ever need any. Florrick: And Wyll; you are always a part of my duty. You are more of Baldur's Gate than anyone I know. The city was never the same since you left. I hope it can become your home again. Wyll: It has never stopped being my home, counsellor . Of that, I can guarantee you.
