Me
two severed logs lay crisscross on one another
one takes to the spark much easier
and is engulfed in heat immediately
whereas the second log is still wet from the nights of weeping skies
the burning passion of the first’s is overbearing
and the second log smokes producing concerning steam
but soon sizzles
and finds the fire spreading overwhelmingly fast
and is soon fully engulfed in a naturally intense love that we all hope never burns out
but we all know
with someone so susceptible to destruction
ash is inevitable

sure, there are dead stars
galaxies filled with voided space
and yet
you were the only thing that shined brighter than the any star I saw in the sky
a super nova of some sort
I was blinded but your luminous danger
and I forgot how close you were to an explosion
but now
I guess you are just another deceased star in my galaxy of complexity and space

fall/school haiku
a mirage of life
colors of the sunset flow
on the trees rooted
plunged in the piles
i’m deep into this new life
college welcomes me
roots have dug elsewhere
it is time to grow stronger
this soil is so warm

crafting something in the kitchen I am drawn to a certain spice
I long to twist open the cap
and indulge into the heat
it wants to reach out and warm my tongue
it smells so sweet, but I know once I take a small taste it will linger
since you left, my tongue has felt no spice
I have felt no warmth
but the memory remains
your taste makes me want to pour this entire canister onto my eager tongue
I tasted you third degree
and have never wanted to heal my wounds
I would sift through the ashes of us just to taste another ember
