Lily has a bad night and sits in the common room. Sirius comes down, also still awake. When he finds out Lily doesn't feel well he tries his best to cheer her up with stupid jokes that aren't even funny. In the end she is smiling and feels ready to go to sleep. So does Sirius. Thanks to him both of them have a good night. Because he's loving and caring and gives so much for his friends. And Lily is just so happy to be able to call him a friend. Because she also cares a lot about him and his smile makes her smiling as well.

At first they don’t really like each other. Lily thinks Sirius is a pain in the ass, conceited, obnoxious and everything and Sirius thinks Lily is stuck up and annoying. Then Lily catches Sirius and Regulus fighting in the corridors one night and she and Sirius bond over the fact that their siblings don’t understand them. Once they become friends, they become REALLY GOOD FRIENDS. There are three people allowed to touch Sirius’ hair: Remus, Marlene and Lily. Sirius will fight anyone who gives Lily a problem about being Muggle born. They are also really honest with each other. Lily tells Sirius when he’s crossing a line and Sirius tells Lily when she’s being unreasonable…but they do it really bluntly. Like Sirius will just straight up tell her to stop being a bitch and Lily doesn’t even get mad. They really just end up replacing each other’s shitty siblings

Remus and Lily go to each other when their other friends are just TOO MUCH and they need some quiet time. They are the kind of friends who want to sit around and do nothing together. They will hang out just to sit in silence and read and drink tea, but when they do talk, it’s intense, deep conversations about life and about their fears for the future. Lily tells Remus everything. They complain about Sirius and James to each other. Remus is the first person that Lily admits her feelings about James to.
