    harry had always despised school. it had bored him and trying to keep still in a classroom while some old man rambled on and on about things that were completely irrelevant to harry’s needs had felt like a waste of time. his opinion on school had not changed since his arrival in auradon and though the school administration had offered him a place, harry had turned it down. but uma hadn’t and that was what had brought him into the unfamiliar halls of the dormitory building.   he noticed her immediately. blue eyes, long tawny hair but it was the dreamy look on her face that had drawn his eye, it reminded him of a calm sea.

“    well,  well  —  hello  there.    ”    harry said, his voice smooth as he moved forward, the greeting enough to draw her eye and the pirate’s grin was that of a scoundrel as he closed the distance between them.    “    and  what’s  a  lovely  girl  like  you  doing  over  here  all  alone ?    ”    harry asked, honeyed words sitting idle on his tongue, ready to charm his way into good graces only for the girl to lightly tap him on the nose with her finger.

    that was a new one.   harry rocked back slightly, his smile broadening into something just a little warmer and a little more genuine, laughter drawn from his lips.    “    that  supposed  to  be  some  auradon  thing  or  something ?    ”

    The male looked up from his sketch book. He narrowed his eyes at her question. “No. Of course not. I don’t think anyone is. Unless they called you that. Then they’re stupid.” Tre tells her with a smile. “I don’t think you’re stupid.” He shook his head. Tre knew what it felt like to feel like that he was stupid. His father it made a habit of reminding him.

    “I think everyone is smart in their own way. My brother is really good at math. Me not so much. But I can pretty much look at a painting and figure put the artist just by the brush strokes. Junior probably doesn’t even know what a brush stroke it.” He chuckled.

Normally no one saw Toni cry, and that was how she wanted it. Even the strongest people had break downs once in awhile and this was no different. Hearing a voice Toni quickly wiped at the tears that had spilled from her eyes and then she turned to face the other woman, having forced the tears to stop. “I’m fine.”
