This display of carnivorous plants at the Royal Horticultural Society Hampton Court Flower Show included a great specimen of Drosera binata (forked sundew) and various species and cultivars of Sarracenia (pitcher plants, trumpet pitchers). These plants are adapted to derive some or most of their nutrients from trapping and consuming animals, normal insects.

The first Flower Show was in 1829, shortly after the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society was founded in 1827. This ticket is from 1855, and would admit the bearer to regular meetings and the annual exhibition.
