#175: MY OWN LIES/HOUSES IN TEXAS - “split”

i just was listening to the MY OWN LIES-side with 33 rpm without noticing that it should be played with 45 rpm. and it still was pretty fast. so you can guess, what kind of music it is. straight in your face power violence with some grindcore-parts. the six songs are quite okay actually, like most of the releases of flowerviolence records (it seems that the label is still around).

in total the HOUSES IN TEXAS-side is better tough. it’s way more chaotic, with more grindcore parts (which i usually don’t like that much) and even with some black metal influences. it seems that this was the only release of HOUSES IN TEXAS.

the split-7″ was released in 2000 - and if discogs is correct - there are three different versions. i’ve got the black version and (as usual) don’t remember, where i bought it.

Nuclear Family!: What a great fucking intro, fuck rainbow capitalism and wow these riffs are really good. Just pure fucking riffage and normie repelant, holy fuck.

Leadbrain: Not sure I get this opening sample, but it’s still fucking awesome. Not as big a fan of the riffs here, but the vocals are definitely good, and the opening track is still great. Love the drums on the second track. The track that finally closes out this split is great as well.
