"I will always wait for you."
Kenma didn’t want to admit it, but Kuroo going to college was probably one of the most stressful things he had buzzing in his mind. The situation itself and all the thoughts that came with it.
Kuroo was going to forget about him.
Kuroo was going to make new friends.
Kuroo was going to fall in love.
Kuroo was going to forget about him.
Tetsurou was going to forget about him
It was terrifying. Kenma didn’t have many friends, and he only had one friend like Kuroo. Someone who has always been there, someone he trusts completely, someone he is truly comfortable with. The thought of Kuroo forgetting about him was a fear he tried to ignore his whole life until now. Now, when Kuroo was leaving in mere days— The fear was on it’s way to become a bitter reality.
Kenma didn’t know when the topic arose or when they started talking about it. Kuroo was pretty good at reading Kenma, maybe that was it. Kuroo knew he was upset-- And that was enough to start making some assumptions. Kenma wouldn't call it a fight that they had-- It wasn't a fight. They were just trying to figure each other out. Kuroo more so trying to guess why Kenma was so upset, so irritated and frustrated and everything else that appeared in his bitter silence.
It took two hours for Kenma to finally spill everything.
Afterwards he said nothing. Staying silent yet still thinking about all those ugly thoughts. He let Kuroo pull him close, he let Kuroo whisper those words, he let Kuroo think that that was going to make a difference.
Tetsurou was going to forget about him someday. And Kenma wasn't going to blame him for that.
