Even though there has been a lot of 3D cartoons these past few years, I still prefer to watch those 2D cartoons. It has this certain kind of magic that makes them loveable, unlike those 3D ones, who through time have slowly transformed into something more human-like. I do watch 3D cartoons like UP and Meet the Robinsons, but I still think it would be better if they were in 3D. Maybe some of you would disagree with me, but I am a part of a generation that grew up watching those 2D cartoons on Cartoon Network. Yes they may look like drawings on paper and not human-like, but that's what I like about them. That's what makes them unique. That was the reason why I watch them when I was young. They gave me this feeling that I am in another world. A world away from all the realities of life. The world of childhood wherein anything is possible, unicorns can exist and people can find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Cartoons taught me that dragons can be found in another world, all you have to do is hold on a magical dragon scale and say these lines: "I wish, I wish with all my heart,to fly with dragons in a land apart". They taught me how Dinosaurs became extinct, through the story of Little Foot, Ducky, Petri, and Cera. They were the reason why my favorite period in school would be "Recess" and they taught me how love can conquer everything through the story of Judy Abbott. They taught me not to be afraid of ghost because friendly ones can also exist and how to have a perseverance like Cayote and be wise like Road Runner. They taught me that no matter how Tom hates Jerry, he still can't live without him. They made me kind to animals because of "Cow and Chicken", "Catdog", "I Am Weasel", "Doug", "Chip 'n Dale", and "2 Stupid Dogs". I bet some of you can't relate with me, but let me just end it this way. Back when I was a child, cartoon characters don't have boyfriends. Mickey would always court Minnie Mouse and I think for the whole time he never got together with Minnie until in the latter years. Girls were never the ones chasing after guys and they never had this oh so perfect body, not until "Kim Possible" and "Totally Spies" came in. They were just plain simple with all these magical thinking that kept my imagination active. Unlike today's cartoons that was corrupted by the society that we are in right now.
