When peopletold you about their soulmates you couldn’t help but hear everything withwonder. It should be an incredible thing to have someone to share a bond thatdeep.
Youcouldn’t help but fantasize about finding your soulmate. Dating, marrying, maybe even having children. All those fantasies kept piling up on your minduntil the day you finally met him.
You twodidn’t know that at first, only coming to discover the fact when you twoalready had a deep friendship.
When youfinally saw your name written on his shoulder and he saw his written on yourhip by accident you could bet that the same thought crossed your minds.
Yamamotoand you knew that you should have a long serious talk about that, or maybethings between you would change gradually, but both never happened.
Some of thepeople that knew about that asked you if you were dating, or even when youwould marry. Questions to which you two would just laugh.
Sometimesyou seriously asked yourself if you wanted to do that with him, or if he wantedto do that with you, but it was clear when none of you tried it that theplatonic bond between you was more important than dating or marrying.
Not thatyou two spent your entire friendship single. He would have his dates and youwould have yours. Needless to say, your and his dates accusing you two ofhaving an affair was a more than common occurrence. You two having to end yourromantic relationships because of that was common too.
At leastwhile neither of you had found the certain person, you would have movie nights.
They werefun most of the time, but not when Yamamoto left you waiting on the theater fora long time.
You werealready impatiently messaging him when a man approached you. At first he justtried to make small talk, but you knew well that he was not interested in smalltalk. You gave him polite and short replies, hoping that either the man wouldgo away or Yamamoto would arrive soon.
The mantook your politeness as a chance to go on and started hitting on you. Yourpolite smile was starting to get strained and your short replies were secondsaway from becoming rude answers.
The mankept insisting and your patience finally worn off.
“Look, Iknow what you’re doing, but I already have a boyfriend.” You said.
“Oh? Andwho would be the lucky man?”
Of course, the man wouldn’t accept your answer unless you had proof of it. That was just how insistent he was on annoying you.
Your eyesdrifted to the theater entrance hopeless and you finally saw Yamamoto enteringit. You both cursed him for his lateness and at the same time thanked him forhis timing.
You turnedto the man beside you just when Yamamoto’s gaze fell on you and said, “Mysoulmate,” With a wide smile.
At thispoint, Yamamoto had already reached you two and you greeted him, “Hey babe.”
He smiledat you, confused at first but then understanding the situation and replyingquickly, “Hey, babe. Sorry for being so late. I had to deal with some mattersat work.”
WhenYamamoto said “matters at work” you understood that something must have gonewrong in his mafia work and he had to fight. Oh, well, that explained why hewas so late that night. He was almost never that late.
“Don’tworry, love. You aren’t that late for the movie,” You said.
“Haha, well, that’s good. And who is our friend here?”
Despitesmiling, you knew that Yamamoto was throwing the man beside you a murder look.
“Just apolite man that is going to see another movie babe. Let’s go?” You knew that ifyou didn’t urge Yamamoto to do something else his overprotective aka murdererside would end up getting the better of him and the man who was previouslyannoying you would end up being punished for that.
Yamamotohummed in response and put an arm around your hips, walking with you to theinside of the theater.
“He wasbothering you, wasn’t he?” He asked once you were away from the man.
“Nothingthat I can’t deal with. C’mon, Yamamoto, don’t give me that look. And don’t doanything to that man too.”
“Somepeople just don’t know better than to bother lonely women.” He shrugged.
“Yeah, yeah, I know. Let’s focus on the movie, can we?” You asked exasperated.
Of all thepossible things, your soulmate had to be both your best friend and a Mafioso.
