Enterprise Ireland invest in Fluid Software
Fluid Software have some very exciting news! We are truly delighted to announce that we have just received €50,000 Euro investment for a 10pc ordinary equity stake along with support of a business mentor under Enterprise Ireland’s Competitive Start Fund in the Internet and games category.
Fluid Software are honoured to join a select group of companies awarded the investment to date. From a large pool of entrants we joined 25 short-listed companies, then presented in front of a panel of leading industry experts, including Barry O’Neil of Other Ventures and Colm Lyon of Realex Payments in order to reach the final group and ultimately secure the investment – a real vote of confidence.

If you have prototyped, designed or simply used iPhone applications you will have noticed that certain screen layouts (design patterns) crop up time and time again. Here is our quick guide to the 11 essential iPhone Design Patterns. All of the iPhone prototype screens featured here were created using Fluid UI - the upcoming mobile prototyping tool - Fluid allows designers to mockup Android and iPhone mobile apps at lightning speed and then easily preview directly on the mobile device.
1. Map
Map screen design patterns are becoming increasingly common with the rise of location based GPS services and applications. The majority of screen space is dedicated to the actual map data which is fully viewable using zoom and pan actions on the iPhone. A red pin indicates destination and a green pin indicates origin. The blue blip icon and surrounding radius indicate the users approximate location and the info panel provides additional information about the selected location.

Fluid Software popped along to the 6th Dublin Web Summit last Friday. Dave and Ian were there to enjoy some excellent talks, hold meetings with customers and partners, do a little networking and enjoy a beer or two.

There was a lot of interest in Fluid UI, our upcoming mobile mockup tool, built from the ground up using the latest HTML5 web standards. Interesting to note that in general HTML5 was also a seriously hot topic among the 1000-strong attendees with many working on it right now – we are looking forward to see what great new sites and applications will come from that.

Fluid Software gets Creative with IADT, Dublin
Fluid Software is delighted to announce that we are joining the Create business accelerator programme at IADT (Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology). We are joining the 12 month long program alongside the expanding cluster of digital media companies already based there.
We would like to extend our thanks specifically to Fred Herrera at IADT for his sterling work in bringing us on board and being so supportive at this early stage in our development as a company. We will be based in the Media Cube Business Innovation Centre over at IADT, the futuristic state-of-the-art facility (pictured below).
