Rubies! (and Ruby Zoisite)

A few (kinda underused) Rubies I’ve drawn, and a cluster of a ruby and a Zoisite. 

If you’ve been following this blog for long enough, you may remember “Fangs”. She’s been retired for a long time, and she currently belongs to someone else. So basically, I chose not to draw her anymore and thought she’d be best used by someone who was interested in her.

Anyhow, I hope you like all these guys!

Gemsona update!!

Our gemsonas needed some modifications, because we learned so many new things about gems during the new episodes, soooooo... 

And I’m gonna make little animatics about their backstories soon

Ruby Quest!

(background was taken from Kirby Mass Attack’s mini game, Kirby Quest. Kirby belongs to Nintendo and Hal Laboratory, of course.)

Fluorescent Ruby and Fluorite in the style of Kirby Mass Attack!

Under the correct lighting settings, Ruby gets stripes and Fluorite’s color scheme changes completely, so this isn’t what the two of them look like normally.

Hardystonite!

it’s funny because she’s still sorta in development and I can’t decide on certain aspects of her design and proportions...

Hardystonite again!

Another montage-style picture, this one’s much more complex than the last one. Now you get to see Hardystonite’s color scheme (or at least, a sharpie approximation of it, anyways) both fluorescent and under normal lighting conditions. As well as Fluorite and F. Ruby, Alexandrite makes an appearance in this picture as well. She and fluorite used to be friends before the Ruby incident.

The version of Hardystonite in the top left is what I’ve dubbed ‘Burnt-out Hardystonite’. Basically exactly what it says on the can, if Hardys is under any lighting conditions where she doesn’t appear fluorescent, she starts to go into a tired, drained state. She’s basically unable to do anything like this except sleep, maybe she’ll move a bit or mumble a few words if you’re really lucky. When she is under proper lighting conditions, she becomes hyperactive and violent. There truly is no in-between with her...

before you ask, yes, the background was a bitch to draw, and no, I will not be attempting to draw this many gem shards again lol

Some less-often used gemsonas I like drawing. Honey Calcite’s and Heliotrope’s gems are on the back of their heads (like Holly Blue’s), Talc’s is on the back of her neck, and Fluorescent Ruby’s is on his back.

on a side note, Rainbow Moonstone’s name is now just Moonstone. I think his design would look better with a different color scheme.

Some sorta old stuff I forgot to post about Fluorite and F. Ruby

Ruby sorta fell into her cell by complete accident and got attached to her after a short while. And they fused soon after and never really unfused.

I designed these two ages ago, as in, early 2017, so I may or may not have taken a bit of inspiration from Moana while I was drawing them. Hardystonite just sorta happened later, I thought it’d only make sense to fuse these two.
