Wait Out the Pain ~ Open
It was the bitter cold. It spawned a deep pain in the very core of his bones like no other sensation. It was as if nature itself was trying to snuff out his flame, and the ache he got inside his chest from training was proof. It should have healed by now. Oh, wait. It HAD. But the cold always had a nasty habit of bringing it all back, tightening his muscles and joints and forcing them to dwell in agony. He couldn't just warm himself up. Lea surrounded himself in layers of clothes, tugging an army jacket around his slim frame. His hands dug into the pockets and hugged the coat tighter to him, trying so desperately to seek out some semblance of warmth. Any embers left within him to ignite the feelings of normalcy. If he was lucky he'd get some sleep tonight. So long as the pain subsided, and the battle scars ceased their cries for just one cold night.
