Allow me to a very specific nerd for a second.
If you look a little bit into Zaragoza, one of the Spanish cities serving as inspiration for Paldea's captial city of Mesagoza, you can find out it has a cute water-themed mascot named Fluvi, originating from the "Sustainable Water Development" themed Expo 2008 hosted in the city, and funnily enough appearing too as a mascot in the city's water bills. I spent most of my life completely unaware of this silly thing, but the moment I found out about this creature, I became lowkey obsessed with it because of how odd and cute it is.
I know this is most likely pure coincidence, but I can't stop looking at the resemblance between Fluvi and Gecqua and wondering if some of the location scouting for Scarlet and Violet influenced its design. But I already know what I'm going to name it when I play the game.
