Countdown Day 1: Digimental switch up!

So for my first piece for @digimon02countdown I wanted to do something about some of the untapped potential for the digimentals/eggs. I love the fact that mixing and matching the eggs can produce completely different digimon and I think it's a shame that it wasn't explored more in the series. I was originally going to do the lineup from the Valentine's audio drama; but I thought highlighting some of my favourite unseen combinations would be more fun! So here's another scenario where everyone had to switch up their digimentals!Since it might not be apparent who is who (from viewer's left-to-right) :

Veemon + Light = Gargoylemon

Armadillomon + Hope = Sheepmon

Hawkmon + Knowledge = Flybeemon

Patamon + Sincerity = Ponchomon

Gatomon + Kindness = Oppossummon

Wormmon + Courage = Shadramon

Yasyamon and Flybeemon (separate) being delighted to carry their tamer after they shyly asked because they've been walking for a long time

Yasyamon

Yasyamon had taken notice of his Tamer's fatigue after they both had walked for some time, the way they began to drag their feet and their general demeanor seeming unpleased with such a situation. Yasyamon had yet to feel the drop as he kept at a pace, but eventually had to slow it to keep with his Tamer.

When they finally asked, rather shyly at that, if he could carry them, Yasyamon was quick to nod before he scooped his Tamer into his arms. His words sounding calm and collected, as the always did, but a spark of delight in his red eyes at carrying his Tamer.

Yasyamon really didn't mind! Anything to help his dear Tamer. They needed the rest, and he would have suggested a short break if they really needed it or seemed like they were just going to drop like a stone into water. Lucky them that Yasyamon had plenty of strength to keep going, they could nap in his arms if they wanted to.

Flybeemon

It was always tough to really get what Flybeemon was thinking about, that's half of what his Tamer thought anyway with how he was. And as he flew by their side as they steadily grew more tired as the trek was longer than expected... they decided to just ask Flybeemon what had been on their mind for about half the walk.

They shyly asked if he could carry them, since their legs began to hurt, and they were too tired now... but they could also just rest! That'd be fine, too! Flybeemon didn't have to do anything he didn't want to after all. But to his Tamer's surprise, he did agree as he went to grab them up in a way that would be comfortable enough.

This wouldn't inhibit his ability to fly, so it didn't matter Flybeemon was quite a strong Digimon for what he was, and the trip got along a bit faster once he didn't have to just keep pace with his Tamer and could fly at a pace he preferred!

Some messy color style...experimental(?) art from me from stream last night using armor evo digimon.  Mostly did a more faster coloring on there, with allomon having really fast lineart as well. I enjoyed doing this since I tend to always keep my stuff clean with lines and color.  I really had fun drawing Flybeemon and messing with the design a little bit. I really like doing simple insect armor like this.
