Hello yes I am here to convince you to pretty please talk about Audeius more because we love a Brotherhood assassin 👀
I'm delighted that so many people love my little murder freak of a man lol. Guess I'll go ahead and lay out what his life was like before Bravil!
Here's the first post for anyone interested
WARNING: There is a few mentions of SA early on. Nothing graphic.
For context: the way I have my lore set up is that Jagar Tharn isn't an actual Tharn by blood, but was rather "adopted" into the House through clever bargaining. This resulted in the then Count of Cheydinhal, Grellian Tharn, starting a civil war between Nibenay and Colovia backed by the "Emperor" in an attempt to expand his wealth and territory.
Audeius was born "Ostella Tharn" three years after Jagar Tharn took the Imperial Throne, to a serving girl who was kidnapped and raped by Grellian. By this point, Grellian had successfully taken hostage of his rival's daughter (Sybella Taurus - Maybeth's mother) who hadn't yet produced an heir for him.
When the serving girl died in labor, Grellian made the decision to recognize Ostella as his child and kept her shut up and isolated in Castle Cheydinhal for the first seven years of her life.
When Jagar Tharn was finally usurped, Sybella's brother led an army to Cheydinhal to rescue her. Grellian was killed and both Sybella and a newborn Maybeth were brought home to the Imperial City. When it was brought to light that Ostella wasn't born of Sybella, her brother gave the order for the child's execution.
Her nursemaid helped her escape, and Ostella spent a year living on the streets of Cheydinhal as an urchin until Count Terentius of Bravil, who was once an ally of Grellian, sought the child out and brought her home.
Audeius was the name he chose for himself at thirteen when he Trans'ed his gender, which the count approved. He was officially made apprentice under the count's stable master shortly after. All that to say - Audeius is canonically a Horse Girl
Ooh, happy birthday!! c:
thank you :D

Fly Casual // Gwenog & Regulus
Not a lot irritated Regulus. Sure, he acted like the stereotypical annoyed Slytherin if a Gryffindor happened to get in his way, or if someone stayed in his company for too long. But in reality, he was so emotionless to most things, that barely anything made his blood boil.
Except for perhaps this situation.
The Black family name came with a few traits, one of them being that it was almost offensive when someone was trying to interfere with something they were doing. On this particular day, it was Gwenog Jones on the Quidditch Pitch. Now, Regulus knew the pitch had not been booked that day, and that, for argument purposes, would be why she had just strolled on without permission. But he was clearly flying, and she dared to bother him when he was training.
The absurdity of someone coming on without even asking – or perhaps that another student dared to even approach other than a fellow Slytherin. Regulus stared at her for a couple of moments from his position in air with disbelief. The snitch he was planning to let loose and practice with was becoming impatient, and Regulus was not far behind it.
As if being Head Girl gave her immunity when a clear superior member of Quidditch was playing. Unbelievable.
He made a slow descent to her, dismounting his broom with ease and taking a few strides to get face to face with the Hufflepuff Captain.
“Jones, with all due respect, you’re in my space. Can’t you just-” He waved his hand in a ‘go away’ motion, trying to hide his irritation with stoic features.
@gwenog-jones
flycasual replied to your post: I'm watching The Expanse right now my dude. A+
my best friend was telling me about this not long ago I guess I really should watch it hmm
Yeah, all joking aside, the show has a very similar “feel” to Mass Effect. (Mass Effect 1 specifically, imo.) I’ve told people that it basically feels like a Mass Effect prequel set just before the discovery of the first mass relay.
Visually, it’s pretty clear they’re drawing influence from the series. From shit like the armor designs, the ship interiors, Ceres that’s basically the Citadel -- and without spoilers, last week’s episode they basically lifted a monster design right from ME1 lol. (If you don’t mind spoilers then check him out, he’s a cutie.)
But thematically, it has a lot of the Mass Effect elements of... a galaxy on the brink of war, interplanetary political intrigue and conspiracy, a coverup with alien invasion, a bunch of underdogs on a ship trying to save the galaxy, a cast of strong women and POC, etcetc.
Even if you’re not an ME fan, it’s some of the best sci-fi I’ve seen in ages, but if you’re a fan of Mass Effect it absolutely feels like a Mass Effect TV series haha.
