🚨 Flying kitten alert 🦋🐈💖

This moth is called the nut-tree tussock. Clearly it should have been called the flying kitten though. May your week be blessed with soft, fluffy moths - starting with this one!

It briefly considered warming up its wings and going somewhere, before deciding a nice warm-blooded human makes good furniture. In fairness it's still pretty cold in the morning here rn! In the end I had to put it on some nice matching tree bark away from the trap. Moths like this are not good indoor pets, so I couldn't bring it with me. But it's still a joy to be visited by something so fluffy.

This species feeds on several different deciduous trees. To keep this utterfckingly delightful moth well fed, pls look after your local trees. Thank you from the Moth Promotional Board 🦋✨📋

This is the nut-tree tussock moth. Among my friends, we've renamed it to the 'flying kitten.' Because have you SEEN how fluffy it is??? Why the internet doesn't love moths as much as cats I will never understand lol.
