Title Prompt: Jedi Homework ~ flyingmirror
This has been marinating in my inbox forever, but I finally finished it.
Part of Souls like Thunder, a brief look on Obi-Wan’s and Harry’s Padawan years.
----------------------------------------------------------
“Your Master is a disaster, you know that, don’t you?” Harry muttered displeased while Qui-Gon disappeared into his room
“Shouldn’t you be doing homework or something?” Obi-Wan asked his soulmate irritably. He was mostly irritated because Harry was right. Telling a born Seer to ignore their visions was a recipe for disaster all around. Live in the moment, his ass.
“I am doing homework” Harry replied, “Jedi homework.”
The thoughts fluttered between him and Harry as fast as they appeared. They didn’t talk over their bond, it was more an awareness of meaning
“Jedi homework? What does Master Yoda have you do now?”
“I am to meditate on my fears. Stupid dementors. But I’m going to cast that patronus if it’s the last thing I do.”
“More like you’re going to cast the patronus Or it will be the last thing you do.”
Which brought them back to their current predicament. Ever since Harry had met that dementor on the train, Obi-Wan was filled with the horrible awareness that Harry would die within the next year if he didn’t learn to defend against them.
But a trained divination talent was supposed to do more than that. Harry’s divination lessons, joined mostly for Obi-Wan, were useless. And apparently Qui-Gon, who was supposed to help his Padawan develop his abilities, was also useless.
“Let’s go visit Master Yoda. Just because I’m crap at seeing the future, doesn’t mean you have to be.”
