I recorded this little chord progression whilst playing with my son in his room this morning, and I was just struck with how beautiful these little moments in life are. When I was younger I remember I felt like I was waiting, just waiting for my life to start. Time and age has taught me that life is here, it’s happening now…and it is absolutely worth celebrating!
It’s close
Close enough to see
The curl of grain
Beneath (under) gloss paint
Pile on
Greying into dark
Enveloping (whole)
Peering out into the world
In a space
One ragged breath
Reverberating
Where I’m king
In the still
I dream
Of nights spent
Cool pine trees
Only soft
And the breeze
In the still
I dream
I made some music. It’s been a while. https://flyja.bandcamp.com/track/yet-we-roam #music #bandcamp #flyja #folk https://www.instagram.com/p/B1Yz1zFlI7s/?igshid=1jhw8i19z14g1
I wrote this song a while back. It was true at the time. Things change, but I still think it's a good song.
Inspirational collages for the three elves in mine and Sarahs current project "Flyja". The elves are basically a merge of a classic nordic elf, a pixie and the nordic folklore legend of a "mara". A "mara" is basically a nightmare in creature form, said to have female naked form and to ride the chest of a person when they slept (which is the feeling of having a nightmare not being able to breathe or move). There are also other legends that say they where little furry creatures that hurt the farmed animals, but then again. A lot of myths don't coinsist with eachother. Our creatures are full size and humanoid, but we're currently workig on as to how we can make our actors LESS humanoid to distinguish them from the humans. Firstly we're making them black-eyed with full black-eye contactlenses. Using only beauty-makeups and contouring we will enlarge the eyes, remove eyebrows and deepen the sockets. We're trying to use next to no prosthetics, but to keep with the classic elf/pixie-look we're adding the classic ears. Though we have decided to not have wings. Partially because our zero-budget is prohibiting us, but also both of us (Sarah and I) instinctively felt that it didn't go with the overall look. Instrad we're choosing light fabrics for the clothing and deep v's in the backs of the dresses that we will incorporate in the make-up, making it seem like the clothes are erupting from within their skin. And seeing as I love my gore, why not make it painful? Bruising and blood it is. But subtle ofcourse. We have created three of theese to play in our story, representeing almost the three muses; past, present and future called Dó, Naú and Síðar (to keep to the Icelandic theme it's then, now and later in Icelandic)That has shaped their characters quite a bit, but we're also talking about adding a second trait; guilt, oblivion, ignorance. This will add in some cases a contrast. In the shape of Dó, representing guilt and past, we will find her close to a lake. She will almost have merged with her surronding growing a long thing weave of hair matching a long flowy gown in an almost teal shade of brown. Her back bruising will be the most prominent and her features will be quite withered. Naú represents present and oblivion, truly being the one of the elves living in the present. She can only speak what's happening right now, which will act as a comic relief a bit. She represents innocence in a way and will be the purest of the three. For flexibility she will be wesring a flowy pantsuit and have wild almost candyflosslike hair. Her features will be more rounded and childlike. Síðar is the future and the ignorance. She is the temptress allways out of reach. She will be more physically alluring of the three and have sharper features and a gown complimenting a female figure. Her neck will be quite appearent also in a very short haircut. So theese are the three elves. It's hard work to keep them to the same species but still making three distinct characters, but I'm soooo looking forward to test theese ideas out on our models.
all was not subject to waste ; it was manipulated in his genius to avoid squandering his source of brief transcendence. entangled a fuss of sweat in sheets, a carefully wrought bliss was harbored in greed at the gentle fixing of thighs ; at the vapor she still flung from generous tongue. (broken people were better off sharing lest be cut on jagged shadows of memory)
he endowed on them a wanton moment for relish, for cooling heat of flesh before he unraveled from her embrace (sweet as it was). sheets barely twisted below the waist———he had only thin scatterings of shame. ❛ your set earlier— ❜ the devouring of a cigarette plumes smoke at her skeleton jaw (a kiss for a token) ;
❛ ————it was good. ❜
