@flynni liked for a starter.
Most people would agree right off the bat that the condominium he’d been moved in to was superior to his previous house- it was bigger, it had more rooms, and it was modern. But it was still completely unfamiliar to Gyomei, and would likely continue to feel that way unless he did something about it. There was no need to relegate himself to a place that only made him feel more alienated than before.
So he went to the marketplace that had advertised itself as having vendors with such variable goods there was bound to be something familiar or at least appealing to him. Despite the Fibonacci Ward being much busier than he liked and despite the fact he was... incredibly immaterial. Gyomei had lived frugally his entire life and had no desire to change that. He was searching for something, but he just wasn’t sure what.
He probably looked like a whole idiot standing there like that, but at least he wasn’t in anyone’s way, hopefully.
