DO YOU BELIEVE IT’S MORE IMPORTANT TO HAVE TRAINING OR NATURAL TALENT TO BE AN IDOL? WHY?: “for me it’s training. training mean you are putting in the work and it’s something you want to do. i wasn’t the greatest at dance or rapping before i had asked my parents to let me take classes. hard work pays off, especially for being an idol. it helps you learn and gives you a better understanding of your own improvements”
IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT ONE TRAIT IS MOST IMPORTANT FOR AN IDOL HOPEFUL TO HAVE AND WHY?: “friendship. in this industry it’s majorly important. friends can be emotional support to help you through hard times and cheer you on. there will always be some dark times where you believe you don’t deserve to debut, however if you have friends you can get out of it. i nearly gave up after missing the chance to debut the first time, but my impulse brothers who i cherish are the one’s who help me be get out of that negative headspace and focused on debuting. you’ll just have so much negativity if you are alone. even if you are a soloist, still having friends will help you.”
DESCRIBE YOUR TEACHING/MENTORING STYLE: “i have been told i can be quite strict when being a mentor. i guess that’s from the how i was taught in the performing arts school back in china. i’ll give you praise if you do everything right, but i’ll also be honest and tell you what you need to work on.”
