#1 - Lyrical Notebooks
words: 475
Yunhee’s notebooks that are filled with her own lyrics are always in a lilac embossed cover. Her mother gives them to her from time to time, a family friend of theirs back in Ansan is a book binder maker, and ever since she started elementary school, Yunhee has always had a customary book cover for all her notebooks. To her, writing lyrics is like poetry, and after several years of her mother reading Yunhee poems instead of bedtime stories she loved poetry and lyrics in different songs. To her, she often tries to wonder what the songwriter is thinking to produce a particular song.
Her lyric book was one of the reasons apart from wanting to make her mother proud to become an idol. Her mother had found it on her bedroom floor a couple of days after she had mentioned about being cast for BC, and read the songs in Yunhee’s heart that were placed on the pages. She did state that Yunhee had a talent to showcase the songs that were written in her notebooks.
Since debuting with WISH, she has about 4 completely filled notebooks, each page with lyrics printed on the page, her neat handwriting slightly crumpled against the several erased words. Though it has been several years since her mother had found the notebook and mentioned her talent; Yunhee is nervous about sharing her work, even though she does want the opportunity to go into producing songs herself. She is worried about the criticism from the CEO and him stating that they are terrible, even though she does put her heart and soul into writing them.
This however is not the reason that she doesn’t have the confidence to show her CEO about her song writing skills. Yunhee is actually unsure what her members would think of the songs she scribbles down in her notebooks. She normally keeps them under her bed, however since being in the dorm, Yunhee has the suspicion that one or some of the members have looked at the books but haven’t said anything about her work. This does sometimes make Yunhee sad to think if they have seen it, they think it’s bad and they don’t want to put Yunhee ‘s work down... but then she thinks about that they probably haven’t seen it as knowing her members, they would have said something about it in the past five years.
She hopes one day she is confident enough to walk to the CEO and present them to him and the producers of the company so she can produce songs for herself, WISH (and their members) or other groups if she has the potential of being a professional producer/songwriter. Personally, Yunhee would love to have the chance to write the title track to a WISH album, and have the confidence to be proud of her lyrics.
