it was weird. seeing other people perform her own songs. jaein thinks she should be used to it by now because she can’t count the number of groups who have covered ddu-du ddu-du or boombayah by now, but it still feels a little odd. it’s like another nail on the coffin about how successful the whole group was. there’s got to be a downward trajectory that comes sometime soon, right?
however, looking at minhee, she thinks the answer to that might as well be no. didn’t everybody say polaris would peak back when they released fire or something? but instead, they continue to be everywhere and only getting bigger. jaein prays every night that that’s not ultraviolet’s future. “would have been nice if we released adios a little earlier, right? that way you could have gone with a song you helped choregraph,” she says with a chuckle.
