jaein has, to put it frankly, been promoting nonstop since the beginning of this year. to say she’s tired would be an understatement, and the fact that she’s back promoting with lucid after an unsuccessful solo comeback just means she’s wasted a good two weeks she could have spent on resting up instead. why dimensions continues to bother with her is a question she’s stopped asking since it doesn’t look like they’ll stop anytime soon. all she wants now is maybe a week to herself where nobody looks for her. 

since that’s completely unrealistic, the least she thinks she deserves is a break on her own as they wait for the live broadcast. she’s out near the vending machines with some flimsy one thousand won’s as she contemplates on what she wants to drink. “do you think i should get the peach drink or the mango?” she asks, taking a look at the fellow idol member that’s standing besides her. the last time she’s spoken to minjung was at one of those joint company related events, but not a lot about her seems to have changed physically. the same could probably be said about her as she never goes through any drastic changes for comebacks. something about the whole girl next door image they want for her or whatever.

it was another solo single that he was promoting. truth be told, it feels like he had just released candy. however, that was already months ago, which still felt a little odd that it was so long ago. this time, however, duri wasn’t going to be getting on stage to dance, like he did for his two previous releases. instead, he returned back to his comfortable genre, the one that he had become known for early on in his solo career. which he was perfectly fine with, since ballads were one of his favorites to create, and he always had a really good time with them. he just hoped that other’s managed to like the song, goodbye, just as much as he was proud of the single.

it had been only a few days since he started promoting the song. he seemingly stayed a bit to himself, rather than doing his usual go around - just so he could get back into the swings of promoting once again. but, today, he decided to walk around, instead of staying inside of his waiting room, or somewhere backstage, awaiting for his cue to go up on stage. so, he got up, exiting his waiting room. 

he knew a friend was promoting at the same time, so he decided to take a visit. he made his way around the dressing rooms, being sure to read each door to see who was in which room. once he came across minjung’s, he sent a knock to the door. “minjung! it’s duri!” he said through the door, before he’s giggling happily, and stepping back.

Sooah doesn’t think it’s the Californian air that makes her feel this excited, and maybe it’s just related to the fact that she’s on a trip to a place that she hasn’t been in a while, and that alone is already a welcome change. After the slight frustrations with work, experiencing a change of scenario felt great, and Sooah could feel her mood get better at the mention of the Triple Fantasy Festival.

Enough that she wasn’t even reluctant at the idea of showing up at the private pool party, even though it’s not exactly her cup of tea. Sooah was just trying to enjoy whatever things they have to be done while in town, to be honest. And it’s not as if she was going to be alone since people like Minjung were prone to end up making her company for a while. “Unnie, why are you’re still sulking? I thought you were already past the fact that we’re not sharing a room this time,” Sooah says chuckling. She links their arms together and leans a little in Minjung’s direction. “Either way, you’re enjoying your time here, aren’t you? Didn’t you just perform again this evening?”

she wasn’t an actress, in fact jynx thought about calling jiah and asking for some tips. just, keeping a straight face was hard for her when she realized that she had to keep a straight face. but she would do it. it had taken a while to come with a lame idea and she needed the help of one staff member to do it. the set up was in one of the conference rooms, and so far, so good, she couldn’t see the hidden camera’s and that was the point right?  and now the person she had was going to play the prank on had arrived. 

“take a seat, take a seat. i ordered some sandwiches and chips and drink. i hope there’s something you’ll like.” she smiled at minjung and motioned towards the food on the table. “so, i wanted to have lunch with you because the company is planning on having my do an album....” she made sure to sound resigned about it, most knew that wasn’t her career move.  “but they’re thinking of having me do a collab and we’re looking at vocalist, i wanted to ask you about it. i had a few people in mind myself and you were one of them. of course, the higher ups will have final say but i want to push people if i can.” yeah, just get her comfortable.

As a rule of thumb, one does not deny a free meal. It would be true if Inyeong wasn’t an idol and it held even more true considering she’s a rookie idol. Any opportunity for a good meal paid by a corporate card is not one that Inyeong can simply deny. So even if it wasn’t required for her to attend the dinner, Inyeong would’ve gone anyway. The prospect of socializing wasn’t something she was looking forward to in particular but she reckoned she could avoid most people if she struck a constant conversation with her manager or with someone she knew, like Andy. Others would be polite enough not to interrupt and she could go on with her life without being forced to interact with people she didn’t know or cared for. At this point in her life, Inyeong had become an expert at avoiding situations she didn’t want to be in while still managing to come across as completely polite. 

Of course, things didn’t exactly go the way she wanted them to. For one, her manager immediately scrambled to sit at a different table with other staff, directing Inyeong to the table with the other idols and a couple of other people. And then, she didn’t quite manage to sit next to Andy. Instead, it was Minjung by her side. Inyeong wanted to curse at the thought that it would be expected of her to be polite, to strike up a conversation and not simply ignore her senior. Keeping the grumbling to a minimum, she reached for a bottle of soju, turning to Minjung. “Would you like some, sunbae?”

taejoo hesitated to approach the alcohol. he’d known that there would be some at the party. it wasn’t as if the hosts had hidden that. it was just that it was different hearing about it versus being confronted with the actual question of whether or not he should drink. realistically the chances of anyone recognizing him were slim at best, his face and identity were public but they hadn’t been out there for long and he wasn’t debuted. the chances of getting in trouble were slim, but they weren’t exactly none.

he turned slightly catching sight of a company senior. taejoo offered her a smile. “i’m sorry am i in your way?” he asked moving to the side just slightly. he recognized her but only really in passing. taejoo had never really had time to actually have a conversation with most of the gold star idols. the trainees and idols only ever really brushed shoulders very ocassionally. the trainees of course being busy with their training schedule whilst the idols usually had their own rigorous schedules. so he found himself struggling to place her face fully amongst the groups.

it’s like fate’s playing a trick on the fuse girls because suji and minjung end up being placed in the same villa for the trip. suji’s not exactly unhappy about this fact, but she is a little wary after everything that went down during their last interaction. concert backstage. some yelling here and there. two girls who can never seem to see eye to eye. she’s come to the conclusion that perhaps that’s how it’s meant to be between the two of them. 

with everything that’s available for the idols to do, she’s rather overwhelmed and decided that she’d rather spend a few hours resting up instead. unfortunately—unfortunately? fortunately?—minjung is thinking like her for a change, and the two of them come face to face at the living room of the villa. for a moment, she hesitates before deciding that she doesn’t want to be sitting here in complete silence. 

“you’d think that after almost a year without a comeback, gold star would give us a more decent song. or perhaps even a mini album.” it’s after she throws out this question that she realizes that she doesn’t even know what minjung thinks about this comeback. it’s even worse because suji doesn’t think she’s ever bothered to ask. and while she’s not usually one to complain about the decisions made about her group, she can’t help but feel disappointed over the way fuse has been getting managed recently especially since she’s such a firm believer that her members and herself deserve more.

it had only been a few minutes since they got started. as if they didn’t already have work, kami pushed her friend into helping out with this track as well. she also needed to give minjung a chance to look over the lyrics. now that it had been penned, she could move on. and she had few ideas of what she wanted to hear in the track. once minjung had a chance to look over the lyrics, kami turned slightly to minjung. 

“so what are you thinking? i know it’ll be hip-hop focused as the base...but i think i want a soft intro for those opening lyrics.” she wanted something that would lure people in. “and a nice drop, the plan is for this to bee a summer banger.” it had to be something she could really have fun on stage with.
