It’s time for our eighth task! As always, please note that tasks are not required, but encouraged, and are only to inspire character development and activity. Everyone is free to do only what they have the muse for!
This task is based on two things most closely associated with the current Halloween season: fear and dressing up as someone else! We don’t have a Halloween event this year, and the tasks are not required to be completed in a Halloween context, but if you want to get into the spirit of the season, this may be your chance. Please keep in mind that if you do choose to go the Halloween context route, Halloween can be an uncomfortable season for some and may bring up triggers, so be careful to tag everything appropriately.
Be sure to tag any completions of this task with #fmdtask008 so the admin can verify the earned points with a like!
Write a self-para or a thread of at least six posts about a time your muse was scared. This doesn’t necessarily needed to be spooked in the Halloween, scary movie context (though that is also welcome!). It can also be about more existential fear, like when your muse was scared about the future of their career or life path (perhaps even written as a diary entry!), or being confronted with a phobia they may have like thunderstorms or roller coasters. If this is done as a self-para, it should consist of a minimum of 400 words and does not count toward your monthly limit, but must be completed by the end of the task. If this is done as a thread, the thread should consist of at least six posts (a starter and two replies from one side and three replies from the other). The six posts don’t have to be completed by the end of the task but the starter must be posted between the start and end date and points cannot be collected until the thread has reached the aforementioned post threshold. This can be completed once for three points.
Muns can complete one of either option A or option B below for part two of the task. This part of the task can be completed for two points and does not count toward your monthly limit. (Option A) Create an aesthetic of your muse’s (real or hypothetical) Halloween costume this year or their favorite costume they’ve ever dressed up in at any time of year. Not every muse may have a reason to dress up on October 31st this year, but as an idol, they’ve surely been required to take on the persona of a popular character or trope at one point. Be it for a music video, a performance, a fan meeting, a music show photo walk, a fan service live stream, a special dance practice video, or a party, dressing up as a character is a rite of passage of being an idol, sometimes even when it’s not October. If your muse has acting or variety claims where they might have played a specific character, even that’s a possible way to interpret this task! (Option B) Create an aesthetic or gif moodboard of your muse as an existing fictional character you relate them to in some way. Whether you feel your muse and a certain character have something in common or the existing fictional character inspired your muse’s own creation in some way, there are often other fictional characters you may find your muse reminds you of. In comparison to option A, this is meant to be a more out-of-character take on “dressing up” your character in a different persona. This is not meant to be an AU aesthetic or gif moodboard. Some form of explanation like a brief comparison or even a character quote is recommended.
A total of five points is available for this task for each muse.
This task runs from 12AM EDT Saturday, October 26, until 11:59PM EST Friday, November 15.
