TAE WAS LIVE AND I MISSED IT.
good night pals wee
worked so hard on a project and got crap feedback :((((
alright can i just rant here a bit
i am up on a saturday night past midnight doing fucking homework. not watching a movie, out having fun, relaxing. nope! i am doing homework, teachers shouldn't be allowed to give homework on weekends. weekends were given to relax, y'know take a couple of days off. but how are we supposed to do that when we are occupied by work given to us? lets see how school is broken down. we go 5/7 days a week. the average school day averages 7 hours. (excluding zero period and after school activities like clubs and sports we are expected to join to prove colleges we can balance everything). we are given about an hour homework per class (most of the time it is way more like 2-3 hours even, but some classes dont give any, so 1 hour is what i would say is about the average). that is 4-5 hours of homework assuming we all have about 1 or 2 electives plus studying. so far that is already half of our day that is occupied by school itself. high school students are expected to get about 8 hours of sleep per day (HAHAHAHA) so that brings us to 20 hours. now, to get ready and start the day of endless routine of frying out our brains, that takes about an hour including eating, brushing teeth, etc. so that comes to a grand total of 21 hours that are occupied by school affiitated activites every single day. that is 88% of our day. that gives us 12% of the day for leisure time. we are expected to function and be 100% on task for 21 hours of the day. and that is assuming that we get the recommended amount of sleep which, lets be real, isn't granted to most of us because of staying up late for homework, studying and such. so for a whole week, we are given 38% of the entire week to relax. (i didnt include sleep as relaxing because relaxing is supposed to be enjoying yourself and physically doing something that makes you feel good) but nooow this short amount of time is cut because of homework given on weekends. the constant bashing of our brains with information never ends. but on weekends, we are expected to be out with our families, go to parties, go wherever our families drag us. generally, we teens don't have a choice in this, so we are expected to be out the whole day somewhere, with no room for homework. but that does not matter because teachers just want the work done. it doesn't matter if you stay up til 5 in the morning doing it--just as long as it gets there on their desks monday morning.
Odg I've got many questions but I have no time to answer them now. Maybe some of my tumblr followers might not know yet...
