I just really wanted to make a DCA mermaid au, ok? I also put way to much effort into this au lmao- so get ready to read a very long post! XD

Mers and Death au! pt2.

Eclipse[He/Him]:

For some context: Both Female and Male mermaids can have kids, it's just easier for Females to get pregnant then it is for Males to. So hypothetically if Sun and Moon did want to have kids they could.

Eclipse and Astro got really lucky when they mated for the first time and ended up having Sun. Granted they both are now convinced that if they ever mate again their gonna end up having another kid, which they don't want, but they don't live with other adult mermaids so no one can tell them otherwise. lol- And Lucifer ain't telling them cuz they just laughed their ass off when they found out about that. [Lucifer used to do research on mermaids a couple years back before they decided to pursue surfing instead.]

Also Mermaids live in pods similar to Orcas [just not as crazy as orcas] And they tend to separate when they want to find a mate. Both Female and Male mermaids have a specific mating call for Male and Females. So if the mermaid prefers males over females they can call for specifically male mates or if they prefer females over males they can call specifically for female mates. It's all up to their preference!

Most mermaids will court each other for a couple months, around 4-6 months before mating. Than they'll mate, and if it's a male & female, the Female will carry the egg for about 4 months before laying it and leaving it with the male before leaving a couple weeks after laying the egg. If it's two males or two females they'll probably mate once or twice more before separating to go back to their pods.

It's not uncommon for mates to join the other mate's pod to raise their young together, but it's more common for the mates to part ways and find different mates when they want to mate again. Astro and Eclipse weren't in pods when they met so they decided to start their own pod when they figured out they were gonna have a pup* [*baby mermaid]

Most mermaids when they start their own pods tend to adopt in abandoned pups and eggs. When Eclipse and Astro started their pod they had planned to have just the three of them in it, But Sun had other plans. When he was a child he would go explore the coral reef where Eclipse and Astro had made their home and bring back a pup or egg he found. He still does this to this day, just not as often.

That's actually how he met Moon, He found him while exploring and decided to befriend him. Sun didn't bring Moon back with him bc Moon still smelled of his parents [who had died just shortly before Sun met Moon. But Sun didn't know that yet.] And after a couple years [young teenagers] they decided they would be each other's mate. So Sun brought Moon back with him to introduce to his parents! Eclipse welcomed Moon with open arms, and was very excited when he found out they were mates. Astro was a bit skeptic of Moon at first but ended up excepting him into the pod as their son-in-law when he noticed how happy he made Sun.

More Backup Eclipse OCs time because polls are upcoming. (This one is long, there’s eight backups instead of five like usual.)

Starburst: Activates in Kill Code/Moon when Eclipse gets put into a lab. Has some of the memories that Eclipse does but not nearly all of them. Personality is similar to Eclipse’s in terms of temper and obsessive but more open and much more loving and kind. When he activates, Starburst trips over his feet in the mindscape and makes himself known by accidentally taking control of the vocals with a yelp. This causes KC to go in and investigate, only to find a tiny backup in his and Moon’s head. He puts this backup in his own body to see what he can do, which unfortunately leads to KC deeming him useless and locking him in a room alone. When Blood Moon finds him lurking around where they shouldn’t, they’re horrified to see their baby brother heavily injured and skittish hiding in a corner. Blood Moon takes Starburst to the daycare, getting to a similar greeting of near death via Sun until they hurriedly explains that they seek safety for their baby brother.

Seyfert: Activates quietly in Moon’s gaming computer. Technically him and Cosmos are twins, made and hidden at the same time and activate around the same time. Seyfert just kinda tapped on the screen of the computer when Moon came back from helping with getting Cosmos into a body and Moon now has to extract him into a body too. Seyfert is a little more closed off, having much more of Eclipse’s personality than his twin, but is greatly attached to his twin and his brothers.

Meteor Shower: Activates at the same time as his twin in Good Eclipse. How they got there? Eclipse refuses to answer. How he travelled dimensions? Also unanswered. But Meteor Shower is such a nice bot nobody minds having him around. He got all of Eclipse’s abandonment issues, unfortunately, but no memories to go with it. Good Eclipse and Shooting Star and even Backup Moon are his best friends and family. Lunar gathers that title as well shortly after meeting. Him and Shooting Star follow Good Eclipse around like little ducklings, which has earned Good Eclipse the title of ‘Mama Duck Eclipse’ from Lunar and Backup Moon.

Shooting Star: Activates quite chaotically in Good Eclipse. Lots of screaming and crying and fear of being in someone’s mind. But once Backup Moon is able to calm everyone down and transfer the twins into their own bodies, Shooting Star is quite calm, though easily startled. He has all of Eclipse’s trauma dumped into him with no personality buffer, so he’s very closed off and easily frightened. Good Eclipse treats Shooting Star and Meteor Shower as his children, he loves them both very much.

Heaven: A backup that activates in Solar Flare. Solar Flare brings this issue to KC first, rather than Eclipse himself. KC takes Heaven out of Solar Flare and deems him useless and tosses him to Blood Moon as a ‘toy’. The twins happily tear him apart, only to realize he doesn’t have any memory or personality afterwards and they try to backpedal. Once KC is gone and Solar Flare is off watching Monty again, the twins carefully take Heaven up to the lab and plead with Eclipse to fix him. Eclipse does this, he doesn’t want to see his backups in pain or dying and he understands that the twins were in bloodlust when they hurt Heaven. When Heaven is fixed, Blood Moon takes him to the daycare and leaves him in the naptime area because they’re scared of hurting him again and they want him to be safe. Heaven is quite heavily attached to Sun, who found him, and quite easily startled.

Astro: Activates in an alley, only to be kidnapped immediately by scientists and taken for experimentation. Astro is heavily traumatized, wiped over and over during his stay as a mechanical lab rat. He loses his left leg during this time, a way for them to keep him contained. Moon is simply letting off stress when he burns down the scientist’s lab, he doesn’t know Astro is in there. Thankfully, Astro doesn’t die during this fire, but Moon finds him trying to crawl out of the wreckage. Moon, terrified of having nearly killed him, immediately takes him home and gives him a nanobot prosthetic leg. Astro needs a lot of physical therapy as well as emotional therapy for what he’s gone through. He clings to Moon, Moon was the first person to treat him not as an experiment.

Quark: Quark activates as a part of the Main Stage’s projections. He can’t leave the Main Stage for a long time after being activated. Moon finds him crying alone on a nightly patrol and transfers him into a body, though he’s been stuck on the stage for nearly a month already and is quite shaky trusting others because nobody found him before then. He still sometimes hides in the Main Stage area, only getting found by Moon, who always looks for him. Quark is quite tiny, shorter than Lunar even, but incredibly wide-eyed and sweet to the people he loves.

Chthonian: Activates in Servant Sun before Moon comes to the dimension. Still nobody knows how Eclipse was travelling dimensions to do this. Lord Eclipse sees that Chthonian activated and immediately pulls him into a body of his own, treating him as a pet along with Servant Sun. Servant Sun is quite attached to Chthonian, he sees him as his child and will attempt to protect him from Lord Eclipse’s abuse. The buffer doesn’t stop Lord Eclipse, however, and Chthonian gets horribly abused along with Servant Sun. When Moon comes to the dimension, Servant Sun shoves Chthonian at him when he’s about to leave, pleading to take him somewhere safe. Moon ends up taking both of them home with him.

Bay Realm - Controlled and protected by The Most Powerful Demon Lord, who is also known as The Demon King, It's domain spreads across the entirely of The Outer Island and some land in The Inner Island. The Outer Island is inhabited by Humans, while The Inner Island is inhabited by Demons. It is surrounded by ocean controlled and claimed by the Mer people.

Bay Realm [Outer Island] - The Outer Island is spilt into four regions, all controlled by their respective capital; North Bay is a more mountainous area with colder tempts [the tempts are similar to Modern Day Russia] and is run by the capital city: The Unholy City Of Blood. This area mainly produces Wool products and Hides, it also imports most of it's food. East Bay is a more temper area with long harvest seasons and run by the capital city: Golden City. This area produces most of the food that is imported into North Bay and smaller islands dotted farther in the ocean. South Bay is a more floral region with lots of pretty forest, This area is run by the capital city: The City Of Peonies*. [*Is misspelled on the map] This area is a lead producer in wood workings and lumber, as well as Floral Exports. West Bay[the area that our au mostly takes place in] is an area full of lakes and beaches, it's mainly run by the capital city: Rose City. This area is a hot spot for tourist and produces the most live stock for the Outer Island. This area is also a main trader with The Mer People! War isn't common in the Outer Island as the regions must get permission from their Demon Lord if they wish to start a war. Most of the time their Demon Lord fixes things and gets them under control so they don't have to go to war with each other. But on the rare occasions that their Demon lord gives them permission to start a war. It usually ends up getting resolved quickly.

Bay Realm [Inner Island] - The inner Island territory that the Bay realm controls is mostly a save heaven for Demons. NOBODY DARES invade the Bay Realm, in order to avoid angering The Demon King. So the region is relatively peaceful. This area mostly produces clothing and cultural items. It also happens to be the culturally richest area in the Demon Lands for the diverse cultures that reside there. It's also rumored to be the birth place of The Demon King.

Mother Mary - Controlled by the 2nd most powerful Demon Lord, It is a lead producer of copper for the Demon Lands. It is also a Lead producer for crops of any kind. It contains lots of Fresh and Nutrient filled soil, perfect for growing crops.

Silver Land - Controlled by the 3rd most powerful Demon Lord, it is a leading producer of Silver and Lead. It also produces lots of high quality paints for the Demon Lands. It is the most populated area in the Demon Lands for the colorful towns and cities. Makes a great vacation spot!

Solar Kingdom - Controlled by the 4th most powerful Demon Lord, it produces most of the books and gold for the Demon Lands. It's also filled with lost of historical Buildings and towns. Making it one of the most popular places with demonic historians!

Black Death - Controlled by the 5th most powerful Demon Lord, Black Death makes the most medicinal goods out of the 6 kingdoms. This lovely area is constantly being invaded by it's twin kingdom, White Death. The reason for the constant invasions is unknown but has gotten the attention of the Top Demon Lord and will most likely be put to an end of in the following months.

Lunar Kingdom - Controlled by the 6th most powerful Demon Lord, The Lunar Kingdom is the sole Ally of The Solar Kingdom. This humble little kingdom in the middle of the Demon Lands produces the most live stock of the Demon Lands. It is also a lead discoverer of constellations and planets. Living up to it's Lunar name, the kingdom tends to be more active in the night time hours in comparison to the rest of the inner island.

White Death - Controlled by the 7th strongest Demon Lord, this aggressive kingdom is a lead producer of weapons and wood working for the Demon Lands. While constantly attacking it's Twin Kingdom, Black Death, it's relatively peaceful inside the kingdom and full of roses.

Demon Lands - The land where all Demons & Demon Lords [But the #1 Demon lord] live. Humans and Mermaids aren't permitted into the Demon Lands after the The #1 Demon took control of the region. Demons also aren't permitted to leave this small inner island. There is no escape.

Death Pool - A pool of Ichor that will kill everything that enters it. There is no way around, above, or under it. It Kills Everything and Everyone.

The Mer People - Little is known about The Mer People. All that is known is that they produce a lot of shell items and drift wood works that they trade with The Bay Realm, more specifically the West Bay Realm as they deeply trust the Demon Lord that lives near the Sea Side of West Bay.

what are ur fave eclipse backups 2 write about?

It changes frequently as there's always new ones and ones that I fall back to. But currently, I love writing about Orbit, Astro, Subsatellite, Heaven, Starburst, Cepheid, Firestar, and Dark Matter (upcoming backup). But I do love all of them so much.
