Another typical day out for the two, mindless chatter mingled with outbursts of laughter at some inside joke they’d been giggling at for what seemed like years. Mark walked hand in hand with Seohyun, swinging their arms between them as he grinned - he always enjoyed the time they spent together.
If Mark was close to anyone, he was close to Seohyun, closer than most. The two held no secrets from each other, completely open and relaxed, never worried of what the other would think of them after spilling a dirty secret. It was comforting, having someone so close to talk to about anything and everything.
The gentle spring sunshine caressed Mark’s skin, though it didn’t yet hold the warmth of summer, the chill of winter still in the air. It was his favourite weather. It was a sort of peaceful, innocent weather, the kind that would be hard to imagine something bad happening in. Mark’s mood matched the slight breeze and soft clouds in the sky - peaceful, calm. Happy.
“Hey, let’s go in there. I meant to buy some fish for dinner tonight, which you can join us for if you want.” The words interrupted their conversation, but the little market they’d been about to pass has caught his eye, the smell of fresh fish seeping into the air around them.
He hardly waited for a response before tugging Seohyun along after him, eyes already trailing over the selections before him. Crabs, muscles, eels - the market seemed to have everything, though all Mark sought was a simple cod or salmon. Hand still entwined with Seohyun’s he carried on weaving through the knots of people lingering by stalls.
Stopping by one that looked promising he grinned, immediately buying two large salmons, though as he leant towards the elderly woman behind the stall, clad in thick coat and scarf around her head her words caught him off-guard and made him stutter.
“You two make a lovely couple. So sweet, young love.”
