I gotta say.....it's a little odd watching my silly cartoon slooowwly coming to life 😶😁

I was pretty busy today, but I got a couple small things done during a break before the headache really kicked in. Finished dremelling and putting together the wingtips and taped them on the sides just to see what they look like. Don't mind the paint, I was testing the color (it's perfect, btw). Should I place the wings a little more foreward or does that look about right?

Still not happy with the dome. I kind of want to rip it off and do it over, but at the same time, that just sounds so time-consuming 😏 I know she's a cartoon and technically a riff on Star Wars in general (which is why her first name is Riff, just fyi), but part of me still wants Scoot to look awesome irl. Also need to smooth out the white stuff on the seams. I can never remember what it's called, haha.

Feel free to lmk what you think! I'm still figuring this out, so constructive tips/suggestions/encouragement are always welcome.

Splatoon Hair Tutorial Part 1

As asked by @kesterite, here’s a tutorial explaining how I figured out Pearl and Beta Pearl’s Hairs. I'm certain these same techniques can be applied and mixed to make a variety of other styles

I’m building Pearl’s hair now, and it’s starting to look a lot like the short Inkling Girl hair which means...the bangs are too long. Gotta make my forehead look huge like Pearl

Finally done with Pearl’s head! • Well “finished”. I’d like to add some covered foam to the back so that when the foam yellows, you won’t be able to see it • Idol Pearl is ready for pictures! (Even though I haven’t made the gold arm band but I really think it’s fine without it) I just need my contacts to arrive 💕💕💕

More progress. Green areas in marked up version will be substrate and plants. Purple = trees Yellow = the last wall I need to cut Blue = a dog feature/waterfall unless I loose it up.
