One of the highest of human duties is the duty of encouragement... It is easy to laugh at men’s ideals; it is easy to pour cold water on their enthusiasm; it is easy to discourage others. The world is full of discouragers. We have a Christian duty to encourage one another. many a time a word of praise or thanks or appreciation or cheer has kept a man on his feet. Maybe it is by just “being there” when someone is going through a tough time. Use cards, notes, emails, texts, even facebook to encourage others. Look for the right time to say a good word. A kind word. An uplifting word. Or it may be that arm around the shoulder of a discouraged, disconsolate friend. A touch of the hand. A warm embrace,. A pat on the back. A wink. A smile. A thumbs up!
