🧶 Listen to the full story of The Day Martha Started Knitting wherever you get your podcasts!
🧙♀️ This story was written for Joe’s brilliant grandma (who will never see this post), and for all the blunt, caring crafters in his and Maya’s family.
🧵 Floorboard 13: On the first day that Martha started knitting, no one had a clue what she was doing. But as she kept on knitting and knitting away, she ignites a hope that changes the world forever.
Let’s meet Veesta!
Previous post about the ex-project: ⨳
Although dikučkas may seem cunning and slippery because of cat-related stereotypes, they cannot really boast of any special slyness. Rather the opposite: they are marked by incorruptible curiosity, simplicity, and straightforwardness. Nevertheless, because of their socialization, many of them are forced to grow up under the pressure of control and restraint, so that they can become convenient servants in noble households. Because of this, they are often melancholic. And Veesta is a wonderful representative of her species — except that, on top of everything else, she has picked up a taste for freedom, anxiety, and recklessness. For survival purposes, of course!
