Juggler
A thousand items in the air,
And only two hands to carry them.
These new burdens shall never disappear,
Poison within my roots all the way to the stems.
~
What is left of us now?
Treachery and love.
In your lovely caresses I would happily drown,
Yet you're another problem I am yet to solve.
~
A million burdens on my back,
Much too heavy to be carried by my plans.
Allies are something I both have and lack,
But my enemies are as much as the grains of sand.
~
Freshwater has never tasted sweeter,
Trust is still too expensive.
I made a deal with the king of dealers,
Now I'm a queen banished for being too aggressive.

The Stolen Heir // Book Review
Woah, where do I start?
First off, Wren is such an interesting character and she really is that girl. I loved her backstory and how she helps mortals due to her past. As well as, her complicated relationship with her mother and human family. I love that she solves riddles and expands on her trickery throughout the book. And I loved how she saw Oaks betrayed her and kept that same energy.
Unlike others, I didn’t mind that Oak was older now. I do think that the constant reminders about his appearance and how he plays people’s heartstrings got tiring at a certain point. However, I did like he was charismatic, and was a man of the people – till he wasn’t. Jude really did do her job like, ugh queen 😘. In addition, I thought Oak’s relationship with Madoc was really interesting due to the fact Jude didn’t want Oak around him at all, bashing him to the mortal realm at the end of Book 3, yet he still wormed himself into Oak’s life and heart.
The plot itself was interesting but a little boring and stale at times. I thought some of the action scenes were dull, like the fight in the cursed forest. As well as, I preferred the shorter 31 chapters to the long 18 of this one. However, I did like that we saw more of how “common” folk of Elfhame interact, as in the original trilogy, there was a lot more focus on the family drama and politics that you didn’t see how the “regular” or surface level people interacted.
Hyacinthe and Tiernan were relationship was interesting and I want more of their backstory. I actually do love the Hyacinthe was loyal to Wren and kept his word, and Tiernan grew on me as a character.
Although I’m not a big Madoc fan, he was a special treat. I do wish we had saw Jude, Cardan and the other’s, just to see how they are living their life’s now.
Overall, I rate this book anywhere from 3.5 to 4 stars, due to the fact I loved the characters so much especially Wren. I’m hoping for more twists and turns in the sequel and I know Holly Black will serve us something delicious.
I would literally sell my organs just for a Cardan POV of that one party scene when he had gold on his face, being devoured by fae and staring right at jude and locke
Talking about dementia in school and it got me thinking.
Because of unknown reasons certain proteins connect to neurons in our brain and these cells die, so that we will slowly lose healthy brain tissue and with that we lose orientation of where we are and when we are. Memories from our younger years will be the only thing we can remember and the past will be our reality.
So I thought: who will I be in 50 or 60 years if I get dementia. Who was I as a person in the years of my childhood and in my teens?
It was all about books and foreign bookish worlds.
In 60 years I might be an elderly lady babbling about fictional characters and I really hope there will be some people around, who will talk to me about my favourite books.
Like, how sad would it be if I was talking about Harry Potter or Game of Thrones and people around me would be like "eh I don't know what she's talking about".
With those huge fandoms I might even be lucky and someone would know about the old copies on their parent's attic but what about my smaller babies? Will people even know what I'm talking about, when I mention Percy, Clary or Tessa, Kaz, Neil or Karou, Damen, Aelin, Blue, or Jude or Simon Snow and Baz Pitch?
all i want is a man who is gorgeous and sassy but also really rude with a tragic back story, sparkling eyes, a sly grin and impeccable fashion sense is that too much to ask?
Jello Shots-Jurdan One Shot
Let’s be honest, Jude Duarte never asked to be put into this position.
Well.
Technically she did several times last night but that was beside the point.
Jude had never intended on going to the last student government meeting of the year. She most definitely didn’t intend on getting drunk from mislabeled jello shots. And she MOST DEFINITELY did not, under any circumstances, intend on going home with interim student government president, Cardan Greenbriar.
Yet here she was, in his bed, naked, and 100% not certain on how she was going to sneak out of his apartment without anyone noticing.
It had always been her dream to rise through the ranks of the University of Elfhame’s student government. She was a political science major, collegiate mock trial champion, and was pretty good in the stage fighting classes she took as electives. Yes, Jude Duarte, a sophomore, was poised to become the next president of U of E’s student government.
That is until she got drunk off of jello shots in front of everyone and then slept with Cardan Greenbriar.
Who snored.
The president in question was still doing just that at 11 in the morning. After whatever had happened between them, he’d passed out and had not moved. Jude, on the other hand, couldn’t stop fidgeting, she’d woken up at 8 and had done everything from tapping her fingers on her leg to nervously rocking the one free foot (the other leg was entangled with Cardan’s) back and forth.
Everything was a mess.
Then her stomach growled.
The lanky figure next to her finally moved. “Someone didn’t have enough jello last night.” He murmured, face still buried in his pillow.
Jude politely shushed him. “You’re dreaming. Go back to sleep. Shhhh.”
“Yeah,” the mess of inky black curls lifted. “I’m pretty sure we both know that’s not true.” He flipped over, causing Jude to yelp as their legs locked painfully. “Oh, sorry love.” Cardan flashed her a small grin.
Oh right, that’s why she went home with him. That stupid grin. That stupid, adorable, beaming grin that Jude couldn’t get enough of.
“I want to go home.” She said, not at all the truth.
Cardan pushed the covers back and Jude averted her eyes, catching note of the pin-up Alice in Wonderland poster on the ceiling. It was, for once for a Disney pin-up, tasteful.
“I’m not naked you know.”
Jude looked back down, Cardan was in fact wearing plaid pajama pants. She grimaced.
“They’re not THAT ugly. Nicki gave them to me in a Secret Santa last year, they had matching socks but those were “accidentally” burned to ashes.” There’s that small grin again.
Damnit.
As if to echo her angry thoughts, her stomach growled.
“Come on,” Cardan clambered over Jude to get off the bed. “Let’s get something in you before you run screaming back to your dorm.” He threw her jeans from the night before and a fresh t-shirt from his laundry pile. “I guess you need these too.” He chuckled before tossing her underwear and socks her way.
Embarrassed, Jude mumbled, “I’d like to strangle you with these.”
Cardan opened his door with a flourish and said, “Only if you’re using those.” A pointed look at her bright blue underwear in her hands before he left the room.
Stupid jello shots.
