Folktale Week, day 3 - Courtship

~Though the path was not always clear, he believed it would lead to his heart’s desire~   This was created for “Folk Tale Week” 2019.  The day 3 prompt is “path”. The idea was inspired by “Wizard of Oz” and following the yellow brick road is a journey of self-discovery of finding your heart’s life path.  The path may lead you into dark forests full of unexpected fear challenges but holding onto hope and faith will give you guidance to find your way.  I was also inspired the “hero’s journey” and the myth teachings of Joseph Campbell.  The hero is charging forward on the path answering the call to adventure and follow your bliss.   Art was created using watercolor pencils on waterboard board.  After the initial drawing, the image was painted in to soften the pencil.  Further color washes were applied with watercolor to add more depth.
