I'd been thinking about making a pilgrimage this year, not necessarily for religious reasons, but because I believe in community and I feel there's something about walking in spirit with a lot of people who have walked before you, beside you and who will walk here after you. Covid-19 seems to have nipped the grand hike through more spectacular landscapes in the bud, but it's not like you actually need to travel somewhere else to find connection... I was so pleased when I found this pilgrim statue in my neighborhood. I'll probably try to walk some pilgrim paths in this area sometime soon.
