since there are seven shards, i had the idea to make each one represent one of the seven deadly sins or one of the seven heavenly virtues. faultline would’ve been wrath and jin would’ve been envy, but this was scrapped and all of the personality traits that could be considered “sinful” were all given to faultline. however a counterpart shard to faultline based on the seven heavenly virtues may or may not be added in the future.

Monsanto’s current efforts to recruit public university scientists are not about communicating science, but to manipulate public opinion just like the tobacco industry

Kevin Folta was revealed by Freedom of Information requests to have accepted $25,000 from Monsanto, even though he had repeatedly denied having any Monsanto funding.

As of last year, Monsanto was listed as a "gold" donor to the University of Florida, meaning the company had donated more than $1 million. Several major agricultural biotech companies are major donors, as shown below. A "diamond" donor has given more than $10 million. Dr. Folta has lied and said this money did not directly support his work.

Monsanto and its industry partners have also passed out an undisclosed amount in special grants to scientists like Kevin Folta, the chairman of the horticultural sciences department at the University of Florida, to help with “biotechnology outreach” and to travel around the country to defend genetically modified foods.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and promise a solid return on the investment,” Folta wrote after receiving the $25,000 check, thereby showing both a clear understanding of his role and the purpose of the money. The article goes on to similarly expose Bruce Chassy (Prof Emeritus, University of Illinois) and David Shaw (Mississippi State University). It also discussses, presumably for “balance”, agronomist and GMO critic Charles Benbrook, then at Washington State University, who unlike the others openly acknowledged his funding.
