Electric Dreams...Second-Hand Reality

Have you been dreaming about a Tesla? The cost slightly out of reach? Your electric dream can become a reality with this lightly used Fonzarelli! 

Never heard of Fonzarelli? They are an Australian company that have pioneered the importing and support of a small range of electric scooters, this example one of the original machines the FZ with the lowest range and top speed, but that should not stop you from reading on! Originally priced from just over $5000 this example represents an almost 50% saving on the new price and has covered a mere 5000 kilometres. 

Feature wise these machines are well kitted out. Complete with a removable battery (great if you live in an apartment and need to remove it to charge), 50 kilometre range and snappy performance (0-50 in under 4 seconds) you will not be left feeling you are riding an experiment.  

The looks don’t get my heart racing, but it is classic scooter and inoffensive. With an appropriately lary sticker pack this black beast could actually become the total oxymoron, loud looks and silent operation! 

Value wise this exact model has the addition of a second battery pack doubling its range and boding well for the future. Yes it has some minor scratches, but that is an inner city reality. Registration is good for the next few months too further decreasing future costs.  

Reliability is an area where electric scooters should lead the pack, and I have heard of no Fonzarelli disaster stories. Few moving parts mean the batteries would be my main concern, and with two that is somewhat reduced. A full check from Fonzarelli in Melbourne would however be recommended.  

This scooter truly is the future, and whilst I have yet to ride one, I reckon it would provide all the usual thrills and more (with that great performance) without the smells, service stations and fuel bills!
