Storytime everyone. Gather around the campfire...

Okay, so my school is divided into two parts due to some renovations and whatsnot going on. So where I’m going are the “smarter” kids if you get my meaning, while on the other side the teens are, well not dumber, but they chose an easier course so we on my half of the school is kind of looking down on the other half. I admit we’re feeling a little superior and stuff, but hey. Everyone’s still nice and everything against each other. Anyway, so this “war” between the two halves of the school started a while back and it’s been kind of an ongoing joke for some time now. Everybody’s in on it, even the teachers. My part (the West) are supposedly the better half, while the other (the East) is somewhat lower in status. It has even gone so far to that the Western kids call the Eastern part The Lost Hobbit Village. Cus everybody there are short in the sense that they’re not taller than most guys in the West, and they really love food. Like a lot. They live for food. So one day we just see this kid from East entering West (my part) and you can literally hear screams from East echoing behind him. And when he has entered West territorium he announced that he was changing classes and now was an West student. Just seconds after that we heard this loud chant of at least thirty students with a few teachers, all screaming: “TRAITOR TRAITOR TRAITOR! COME BACK TO THE DARK SIDE!” And then there’s one student yelling: “You know they don’t have food like we do! We know your weakness!” And you can see the longing on the converted student’s face. He wants the food. And then the same kid that yelled cackled and the converted student kind of flinched and I think he’s always going to check to see if his food is poisoned after this because there was this look of pure terror on his face. 

The moral of the story is... I dunno. I guess you guys are gonna figure something out.

Grilled Chicken Sandwich at @suppernyc for brunch has reached the next level. Grilled marinated breast, fired tomatoes, goat cheese and arugula on a nice toasty sourdough baguette. Been tweaking this one for years and years and it's finally knocked the doors clear off my vehicle. Like I want to blow my own brains out right now while it's where I've always envisioned it could be. Just to somehow freeze that last bite in time and call it a lifetime, but I know I still have work to do. I have been given a gift so pure to me that my own ego has over many years melted away into a humility of spirit that only a life of solicitude to food and humanity could counterbalance the weight of the gift. Everything I do is in service to pushing the envelope of food for the greater good of this planet, along the way I hope to be disappointed and inspired towards a new panacea.
