Headcanon: Whenever Sherlock and Molly are eating out, Sherlock never orders anything for himself but steals nearly half the food from Mollys plate. He only does this with Molly. He finds it romantic to share a plate with her (not that he would ever admit it).
Molly, of course, know this and has made it a habit to order double portions and foods she knows Sherlock will eat, even if she doesn't particularly fancy those dishes herself. After they've been officially together for a while, Sherlock is shocked to find out that Molly doesn't actually care for pasta.
