Finally bought The North Water on dvd and had such a good convo with the guy at the til (a real life boat geek! whaling/shipping museum shout outs and recommendations! Nantucket! Amsterdam! Dundee!) so thought I'd commemorate with a post beside my old build-your-own pirate ship from a Pirates of the Caribbean magazine back in the day, complete with tiny architectural man and two polar bears (I like to think one is from The North Water and the other from The Terror 🐻❄️)
I should have brought up Black Sails! 🖤 But I guess there were other people trying to buy stuff and they were literally at work 😂 the power of not buying online (was the same price and everything but got bonus geek chat) Next new boat media that drops I'll be going in store and demanding the info be shared with their boat colleague/captain of the ship, I'm assuming they'll know who I mean 😂👍⛵
Today’s music is for the sheer irreverent energy of it all.
The “Dub” of this is highly fucked up and incredibly good, but probably start with the un-dub ‘cause Soundgarden covering Ohio Players is already a bit of leap.
They saw you today as you were leaving.

Fopp - Soundgarden
Screaming Life/Fopp - 1990
Two jewels of my collection. Screaming Life/FOPP (October 1987), the first 500 copies were released on orange vinyl. And the rarest piece of all Soundgarden vinyl, Louder Than Love (July 1989), only 250 copies pressed on green vinyl.
