Y’ALL. YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY JUST KILLS ME?
In THE VERY FIRST EPISODE of TWW, Agatha gets her powers taken away.
This establishes the fact that witches can, in fact, have their powers revoked.
But somehow...they can’t take her powers away when she’s in possession of Esme’s powers?
And they can’t just take away Indigo’s either?
Or Julie’s?
Is there somehow a difference in the ability to revoke naturally inherent powers versus bestowed/given powers??
Or is it just...maybe...possibly...more fucking retconning...aka extremely lazy-ass writing?
(let’s all guess the correct answer together, as a family)
WHERE THE FUCK WAS YOUR SCRIPT SUPERVISOR WITH THE FUCKING SHOW BIBLE EXPLAINING WHY YOU COULDN’T WRITE THOSE PLOT POINTS.
***EDITED TO ADD***
So yes the thing I did miss was the fact that Agatha technically consented to lose her powers by engaging in the Section 7 duel, which stipulates the loser forfeits their powers--and she lost, after being commanded to do so by Mildred, while under the effects of the total obedience spell. So technically they didn’t retcon this?? Which means I’m salty for literally no reason? (story of my life) But also: in the scene were Agatha realizes she’s lost her powers...how is she just now realizing this? Obviously she had to have already known that she lost the duel at that point. A duel which stipulates that losing means losing your powers. So...why is she shocked when it happens? Did she just genuinely believe that Ada would be too kind to truly follow through with the rules? I’ll give the show a pass on this one. Y’all still need a fucking show bible, though.
