Charlie sat mesmerized by the edge of the stage, gin and tonic half-raised to his lips, a light buzz in his veins. The woman’s voice captivated him and he had to blink a few times to pull himself back down to the ground. After the performance, he wandered towards the bar where the performer was getting some water. “Have you ever considered recording a single before?” He asked abruptly, his eyes wide as moons, fixated on the blonde. “I mean, you have a really excellent voice.”

12:01 AM. Ali's eyebrows rose as she heard the loud music start to play from the outside. Taylor Swift’s Love Story echoed throughout the quiet street where she lived. She turned her phone as she had just finished playing her favorite game, Genshin impact, when she heard the song play. 

She slowly made her way to her window to check which house the noise came from. When she pulled open the curtain of the window, her eyes widened. In front of her house stood her boyfriend, Jean, who was holding a stereo over his head. With him were Connie and Sasha, who both stayed inside the car. As she tried to blink to see what they were holding, she smiled as she saw they were holding dozens of roses.

She opened her window as Jean's face lit up once he saw her. “What on Earth are you doing?” Ali asked loud enough for Jean to hear but quiet enough to not wake the neighborhood. She was grateful that her parents were out of town. 

“Making a gesture.” he replied as he placed the stereo down after pausing the song and walked up to her house. “Stay there.” he added, and she did as told. She watched as he struggled to climb up her house using the vines that crawled up the side. Still since he insisted, she simply watched in amusement. 

“Jean, what are you doing?” Ali questioned with a small laugh once Jean reached her window. However, he didn't enter her bedroom instead he stood there using his left hand so he wouldn't fall. 

“Being dramatic.” He told her as he used his right hand to pull something out of his back pocket. Her eyes widened at the sight of a velvet box. He then offered it to her, which she accepted. “Happy 3rd anniversary, doll.” He said sheepishly. 

Ali opened the box and a smile made its way to her face. The box held a beautiful rose gold lotus necklace. Ali remembered this as the necklace she was looking at the other day. “You know when you said you had a surprise, I didn't expect it to be this early.”

“Who says it's over? Get changed, we’re going on a trip.”
