Video of Adam trying to lengthen strides of trot. He is a little bit too rushing sometimes but has good moments too. Anyway it's one of first times we try this. What’s most important for me is that he tries super hard 💗😄

First Impressions

Alternatively: Writing Update 1

As I’m working on my first story in years, I thought I would record some of my thoughts and first impressions, so I can look back in a few years and laugh at myself.

- I’m shit at writing consistently. As I have to prioritize Uni and have a mental illness that makes productivity real hard sometimes, this isn’t a surprise. I just have to keep working on it, because neither of these problems are going away.

- My writing isn’t as bad as I feared. I haven’t written in years and have never written in English. I was prepared to hate everything and just slowly improve. I’m not saying my writing is good so far, but I do like some of my description and atmosphere and I am looking forward to what I can make of it when editing.

- I’m really bad at dialogue. To the point where I wince while writing it, but, you know, they have to say something. I actually edited a few paragraphs of dialogue just to see if it would improve and it made a huge difference, but, yeah, I gotta work on this one.

- I’m trying discovery writing for the first time with this short story and so far, it’s a mess. But that might just be me being confused by structure and not knowing what I’m doing, so whatever. I’ll clean it up in when I have all the pieces.

- I’m having so much fun.
