Cloud isn't actually following Andrea's moves exactly, if yall didn't notice. He does the bare minimum of copying so it looks like they're doing the same dance, but Cloud doesn't put his hands on his hips and wiggle his butt, he doesn't do the leg thing, he squats and cartwheels instead of other moves. Andrea literally directs Cloud's actions at different points. You can see him holding Cloud's arms out. Cloud also tries to keep Andrea out of his personal space by leaning back when he gets too close. Cloud doesn't look happy during any of this scene.
Why am I focusing on this?
Besides playing it 4 times to see other reactions and stuff for the dresses, I was reminded of the whole bs about the song titles being "proof" of something, but once again people overlook one very important, major detail.
Cloud.
What does Cloud feel in this scene? Awkward, embarrassed, humiliated, forced to do something he doesn't want to so he can get back to the girl he loves.
How does Cloud behave in this scene? Tries to avoid Andrea as much as possible, only echoes his moves enough that they look in sync, initially tries to refuse, but in the end resigns himself to doing something someone else wants because he has no choice.
Andrea's reaction and feelings to this scene are different because he's the one who wanted it to happen. He enjoyed the dance and spending time with Cloud, but in the end he acknowledges Cloud's heart belongs with someone else, which is why he says never let it go the next time he sees Cloud, and we know he means Tifa because she's the one Cloud's trying to save.
I'm not trying to kill anyone's enjoyment of this part of the game, but from Cloud's pov, this sucked and he wouldn't have done it if he could get to Tifa another way.
