Last Gathering - Star Wars Jedi : Fallen Order (PS5)
At the risk of giving away all of my fun headcanons, I just wanted to get the ideas out of my head and hear your thoughts.
Which one sounds cooler to you guys?
1. Altisian Jedi Phee Genoa with psychometry/force echoes who was trained by 3000 year old Kaminoan Jedi, Kina Ha...
(OR)
2. Kiffar citizen Phee Genoa who hides her clan tattoo under her bandana and can still use psychometry on treasure hunts to get the force echoes in artifacts and the surrounding area?
Thinking about “The Village Bride” and how all these acts of caring and love harmonize and build. A girl taking her grandfather’s place as collateral. The boy unwilling to let her go into captivity alone (or unarmed). Her sister refusing to accept that sacrifice, the friends who stand up to join her. The rest of her people gathering to give her what they can of celebration and recognition. An explorer comfortable among them, who will fight for them and theirs.
Thinking about how no single act of these can be enough to alter what’s coming in the morning. How not even every one together is enough. But also how all together they move to action someone who wasn’t one of them. Who may or may not have involved herself before, but definitively chose to now. Thinking about how that push changes everything. Not just for them but for her as well.
Thinking about how when she leaves she takes all those acts, hers and theirs, out with her into the galaxy where she’ll create new ripples. Thinking about how the beings touched by those ripples will never know these people exist, nor vice versa, but they’re all linked anyway.
I love finding in universe explanations for why things happened (even if out of universe it was because of budget cuts etc.) and recently i was replaying Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order on grandmaster and now it is my headcanon that Cal's force echoes aren't just of the past, and any time i (out of universe) fuck up and he dies, he sees an echo of that future and changes something, i just think it adds a lot of angst to the story and also gives me an excuse for why im bad at videogames
actually, while I’m still hitting this fandom blunt and before I forget since I need to have a Big Conversation this afternoon and I’m fucking terrified,
“The Village Bride” is a philosophical successor to a light side KOTOR 2 playthrough (and to JFO but let’s be real I just said that) in how it treats the Force, physical space, memory, relationships, exile and identity, and trauma and recovery send tweet
and while we’re at it “exile” is a verb one suffers but also a state and a person and a place and an exsul is a wanderer and the label can be claimed and remade and so many of our Jedi are their best when they do just that
