Felt like drawing an underappreciated Legends character I love

Why the hell does Wookiepedia think The Force Unleashed was canon to legends???

Don't get me wrong; Force Unleashed is amazing. The only Starkiller I'll ever acknowledge is Galen Marek, and no Nostril-of-Palpatine-tier superweapon could stand up to five seconds of Sam Witwer screaming bloody vengeance. But the plot of the first game is literally "the entire Rebellion was set up by Palpatine just to kill all his enemies and Starkiller turning good is the only reason why it didn't work." That is INSANELY STUPID as an actual canonical thing, bulldozing decades of lore for an excuse plot that existed solely to have you meet all the important characters while you ran around kicking ass. And that's why it was not canon! Aside from KOTOR, SWOTOR no game was automatically canon, and I'm including Shadow of the Empire because it got novelized and thus was canonized that way. Whoever the hell is running that site is asleep at the wheel.

How I personally relate to Devon's experience in Maul Shadow Lord.

Some dark subject matter here, hence the drop down.

I had a very traumatic teenage life. For 5 to 6 years I lived in what were unacceptable, and downright messed up conditions for a young person to have to deal with... Even got taken hostage believe it or not, so I can sorta see how Maul's entrapment of Devon works as someone who's been in a similar situation (though obviously it did not involve nefarious schemes to take control of Galactic crime syndicates and get revenge on all powerful enemies lol.) Still...

I understand how manipulation works, and how it can alter ya perception of reality being so young, and impressionable. Make you spiral downwards/emulate those behaviours yourself through reliving the deeply engrained trauma those experiences leave behind... I cant stress enough how vital having a loving, and supportive parental figure can be when ya conditions are so poor, so to your life prospects very grim. When you lose, or simply dont have that north star growing up you are susceptible to being pulled down into some very dark places by very bad people, or even becoming bad yourself. Especially when you factor in various external stresses, and the basic needs of survival not being met.

Devon is only a teenager, who lives a life without meaning and purpose in a world that is hostile to her very existence. Daki is her only anchor to morality despite also being in the same situation himself. So when he is taken away... God, it really hurts to see.

I love characters like Daki, Prauf, Greez, Bomo so much because they are characters who love and protect the people they care about most, and understand in a genuine way what they are going through. When Devon watches Daki die, im right there with her because like man... I wish I had someone like that in my own life growing up, and would probably be just as destroyed and consumed by madness as she would seeing them die. So if Devon becomes a full on Villain in S2 without a way out. Personally I would find that rather depressing as a viewer... Because I know what it's like to reach that point. Though I also understand others may want to see her fully embrace darkness, and villainy out of a desire to see Star Wars take that creative direction for a change.

I rather Star Wars maintain it's connection to hope... Because it's kinda cringe when it fully embraces evil lol I'm looking at you Force Unleashed DLC content! Like Jeezzzzz...
