What am I doing?

I'm just obsessing over Star Wars Legends and the Thunderbolts. And I like drawing dogs, so I combined those interests. If you'd like to commision me, please send a DM.

Ok, I don't know if this is controversial but I've been thinking about this a while.

I really don't think Penny and Sam would work as a couple. I feel like Penny would wind up getting stuck taking care of him in a similar way that Jodi had been taking care of him his whole life. I absolutely believe in his ability to mature and grow and be really independent, but I feel like Penny has been so used to being the caretaker and running everything in the house with Pam that I think she would wind up taking that mentality into the relationship and never give Sam the opportunity to really grow. I think that Sam being with someone mature would be good, but I don't think Penny would be the right person for him.

Because she's so used to taking care of others and he's so used to someone taking care of him. That's why I feel like she should be with someone who is already more mature and has been independent for a while like Harvey or Elliott. I realize that would wind up meaning that everyone else would need to be rearranged, but I feel like Penny in the long term would be way happier if she doesn't end up with Sam.

Please don't tell me I'm the only one who feels like that.....

So here we go.... there's still a bunch of characters I'll have to design, but here's six of the romancables.

I based Sebastian on one of the dogs that had been trained to help researchers find a specific kind of frog, I believe that the dog is a hound mix. Penny is based off of a picture I found from an article about dog reading therapy (dogs that kids are supposed to read to), I guessed that the dog in the picture was an English springer spaniel. Alex is based off a picture I saw of a dog playing Frisbee from the NFL website and texas heeler. Abigail is a belgian teruvuren because of her adventurous and mischief. Elliott is an afghan hound because of his great hair (my mom said he should be one, and Elliott is her favorite so I kinda had to). And Leah is based on the Australian shepard painter named Ivy who is a real dog who makes real paintings. I've already got the other romancables breeds picked out, just have to draw them and choose the other townees.

Welp, as always I completely forgot about drawing something for May 4th until yesterday........

Oh well, through perseverance and a day off I got this one down in two days. And I figure that this can still work for Revenge of the fifth instead since ya know... Mara wants vengeance on Luke.

But accidentally got husband, love, family, ya know how it goes. I may have scripted this out around the time I was listening to the Dark Force Rising audio book after Leia went to visit the framed and jailed Mara who did in fact make a point of telling Leia that she had every intent of killing Luke. Leia, however, was seeing through the BS and was rather suspicious that she wouldn't do it.

Everyday that I draw anyone from the Heir o the Empire trilogy, I am once again thankful that there's a comic adaption of the story that I can readily cite for sources on outfits. That's exactly where I found Leia's fit. Since I sadly don't have the comics themselves, I have zero context for it, but oh well, probably nothing earth shattering.

I've decided to make those of Rohan blue heelers. Figured that breed could match well for the horse masters of Rohan. Also, Eomer's armor was unbelievably hard to figure out.

So I just wanted to give an update. I'm not dead, I've been really stressed with work and been using most of my free time on Stardew Valley because I desperately needed my cozy game. Things are definitely different from last time and I'm playing with a bunch of mods which have been fun. I've got a whole new save inspired but rockish bands, artists, and songs all so I can play the immersive Sam romance mod...

Anyway, it's been fun, I've gotten some ideas for stuff I wanna do with Stardew, but anyway, as an apology, here's my fanart of my favorite little skater boy rocker as the golden retriever he is.

It does definitely becomes more startling when Aragorn suddenly yells "Then I shall die as one of them" when you think of it from the perspective of all the people who had no idea what was being talked about until that point.

Ever since I heard about how Galadriel's crazy uncle asked for her hair to make jewels, which she said no to, but when Gimli makes a similar request, she agrees, giving three times what he asked for... it makes this moment in Fellowship so much funnier. I tried my best with recreating backgrounds, though I kinda had to just make up stuff for Gimli because the camera angles down on him, yes, but not enough to see the ground. Even harder though is the hair accessory that she has, that took some time to understand.

In an AU where Denethor lives, this is definitely how he'd react to finding about about Faramir and Eowyn. I ain't going to continue with that au though, because i hate Denethor and don't really wanna draw more of him than I have to, and I especially hate that it took me over an hour just to do his chain mail. They're both the same breed as Boromir. I did really like drawing Faramir though, especially when it came to coloring the fur which was me taking Boromir's colors and making them lighter as a nod to his hair in the movies and how it looks lighter than Boromir in the movies. I also liked drawing the white tree of Gondor a lot. It's also significantly helpful when the outfit I'm drawing has a lot of clearly understandable photos that I can reference.

Per recommendation, I zoned in on Sam and Frodo's faces, especially Frodo so it's easier to see his reaction. But since I worked so needlessly hard on the background, I had to have the wideshot of the two in Emyn Muil. And just wanna be clear, Sam hasn't actually killed Gollum in this case. We all know he wants to. But he hasn't.

So I went to see LOTR extended edition in theaters with my family like... 2 weeks ago and the sadness of the inevitable end of the story naturally lead me to wanting to create fanart. I'm planning on doing my more typical style in later posts, but I decided on drawing one large picture with all of the Fellowship in it for reference later.

It was pretty simple for the most part thanks largely to having done the Rings of Power commission because I just expanded on that. So all the hobbits are Glenn of imaal terriers, Gandalf is a giant schnauzer, Legolas/Elves are Afghan hounds, and Gimli/Dwarves are English bulldogs. Though I will note I made a change to how I'm drawing hobbits because I know that there's no way to convey the "they don't wear shoes because they have hairy feet" easily on a dog since everyone has fur and no one wears shoes. But then I remembered that hobbits also have hair on the top of their feet and that I usually never really emphasize fur on top of dogs paws. So I drew little fur lines on top of their paws.

I previously drew Numenorians as great Danes, and since Aragorn is Isildur's descendant, that makes him part great dane, so I just made him a little smaller but still big (like if he were standing right next to Legolas and Boromir, he'd be taller), and I chose one of Isildur's colors to be his. Boromir was more difficult because I wanted to choose a breed that was either related to or was a popular crossbreed with great Danes since he's from Gondor. However, I wanted to make sure that there was enough I could play with to easily differentiate Boromir and Faramir as brothers, and also ensure that he looked very different from Aragorn too.

I just know Atton would shove Mical out of the ship as its taking off just to see if he can get away with it. Only reason Mical's not dead or seriously harmed yet is because Atton knows Meetra would not be happy if he did.

So here's to a happy first introduction of the disciple! He's a wirehaired ibizan hound because they showed up in my Google searches for "Dogs associated with archaeologists" and I just really needed to start drawing because he was the last thing I had to draw.

So a couple things to note. Firstly is that a lot has been going on, I've been drawing less so I'm gonna be posting less frequently from here on out. Secondly is that I've recently been rewatching MLP, a favorite of mine. It's made me think about how it was my first fandom, the reason why I love drawing animals thanks to trying to draw the mane 6, and was the first show where I really into shipping characters. So, um, sometimes i find pictures that make me think of specific characters or moments. In this case, I found a picture of a cat holding another cat dramatically like in this picture which made me think of Batman carrying Jason's body out of the rubble. I wouldn't have drawn this if it weren't for that.

So kinda recently remembered my minor Phantom of the Opera obsession from when I was a child, had the passing thought of Christine and the Phantom as cats, then proceeded to locate a reference that most closely matched the vibes I was going for.
