Whump Prompt #1754

Your character is forced to go on the next mission despite barely recovering from the last one.

This could be them being shipped off with a dangerously high fever; with fresh surgical stitches or a cast on their arm. Maybe they didn't even get the time to mentally decompress from the last mission before they're off seeing The Horrors again.

Can I get some more whump ideas involving cults? Specifically if someone was brought in unwillingly, and/or cult member Whumpee after the fact, maybe during the process of deprogramming and the sorts of things they would have to unlearn (learned behaviors, cult jargon, etc.)

Sure! Sorry for my delayed response. I've been having a hard time physically lately but I finally have more support.

Cult whump

Content: kidnapping, caged, punishment, beating, forced to work, forced to act a certain way/conditioned behavior, self-degradation, religious vibes

Kidnapped because they're in a specific demographic. A certain age. A certain eye color. Etc.

Waking up in a cage and rattling the chain-link fence until someone comes along and hits the fencing, causing whumpee to pull their fingers back hastily

Forced into the bottom of the food chain with constant punishments for the least infraction

Someone specifically assigned to "train" them, standing behind them with a stick as they work and striking their legs and arms when they slow down or say the wrong thing

Forced to stay up late learning the ideology by heart till their head aches and their nerves are on fire. If they can't recite it by the next morning, they'll be publicly humiliated

Having a public whipping post in the center of the compound. It's the first thing whumpee sees when they're dragged in

Whumpee learning to respond to the leaders with the "correct" answers

"Sir, I---" "What do you deserve, whumpee?" "...Hell. I deserve hell. I'm sorry."

Cult leader depicted as some kind of gracious savior, and acting like it. Going around encouraging the lowest of the cult members with a bright smile and an innocuous phrase that has a darker meaning

"Keep up the good work!" But if it's not PERFECT, they'll be punished. This is a threat. Whumpees are expected to respond with a happy laugh and thanks.

Whumpee's responses quickly becoming convincing on the outside, sarcastic and bitter on the inside, wondering if this will ever end, if they'll ever be able to dump the bitterness burning a hole in their brain as they become more and more dulled to the sensation of compromise.
