So I have a debate tournament this Saturday that's going to eat my life. Oh well, four (or was it five) rounds isn't all that bad I suppose... As long as I can hang with my extemp buddies afterwards. Oh wait. I can't most of them won't be there. (I hope the ones that are won't be too busy.)

Westwood Extemp represented HALF of the kids in finals and David and I won DX and FX divisions of the tournaments, respectively! (I'm so proud of that kid.)

Oh and also Sara W. ranked me first in semis and said my speech was "fantastic and very intellegent."

I have all of the gratification I ever needed from extemp.

odd things happen at debate tournaments...

so, took 3rd with a novice today. color me surprised but pleased. but some weird shit went down. not exactly in a bad way, but ya know...

the FXers forgot the FX box (fail) a kid played the saxophone (yeah, you thought guitars were bad) waited for over 30 minutes for the 3rd judge to show up, a kid who left early left his backpack (how do you do that? seriously, my backpack is worth more than my life due to all the important junk i keep in there ... cough macbook pro cough cough) my partner watched my last round (she didn't compete today, just observed)

it was a weird tourney. good, but weird. sketch fosho.
