Today, during a (online) meeting, they told us about erasmus, abroad work and above all, the importance to make/have foreign friends. I thought about Tumblr and how I met wonderful people here (this is not the first time I’m saying that and probably it will not be the last). That the only way to keep for real an open mind, to not be afraid of what is different, foreign... it’s talking with people from other parts of the world. People is the keyword, in my opinion. When you start to talk to people, when you understand that behind the screen, behind the walls (of a house, for example), behind a desk (in an office) there are always real people with their own lives... it’s almost impossible to hate others just because they are different from us. Because they have different cultures, dishes, languages. You can finally feel like you are a world citizen (personally I always thought that this concept born during the period of Alexander the Great... you know... contamination. But this is another story, maybe). And also it’s difficult to hate our compatriots. Because, at the end, we are all people. Nothing more, nothing less.
I never started a tag game, but I’m sure someone did it, for the other ones where I was tagged... Probably this post will end here, but if it doesn’t... feel free to reblog and add the people you met here that you think are special and changed you and your way of seeing the world.
I just want to say thank you to some of my foreign friends, even if we didn’t talk so much, during this last period, maybe.
