Compass Lake. This is where the first layer experiments took place, leading to the discovery of the fifth and sixth cardinal directions. The lake is starting to subside now, but it still holds most of its water. If it weren't in the forest, it would probably be a tourist trap.
The Crowd is a little-understood phenomenon in the forest. They seem to gather only when you need them the least, and they're more than content to watch you for days on end.
A couple of years ago, a decent chunk of the forest took flight on the back of a leviathan. You can chase it down and visit, but good luck landing on that thing; it hasn't stopped moving since the day it left.
